Mitel Software Applications / MiCollab softphone problem (iOS)
« on: March 17, 2020, 10:14:57 AM »
We have installed the latest version of MiCollab client on a bunch of phones, all the Androids work fine, but the 1 iPhone we have has a weird issue.
If the phone is on Wi-fi, it works fine.
When you switch the Wi-fi off and call the softphone, it rings, but there is no audio either way.
The switch to allow non-Wifi softphone is set to allow - i.e. it should be able to call over cellular data.
Ideas?

Yes the licensing can be strange for sure. Just looking at your pictures, I assume that this was purchased with the base of 16 users and 1 digital link. 10 additional users for AWC included by MiCollab. Purchased 8 standard UCC and additional mailboxes, looks like 10 added and 8 MiCollab. Seeing this, I think it has gone trough some upgrades and the MiCollab and mailbox were added at the same time with 2 additional for any auto attendant, general message box kind of thing.

Let me know if I am wrong. Where you are at and if everything was set up, you could move the user licenses above the 16 to the UCC ULM, they would appear in the MiCollab as basic licenses and in MCD as user. The benefit is they can be upgraded to Entry UCC then if needed Standard. The upgrade will add an additional mailbox as well as the additional EHDU for each.

Worked earlier this week on a similar conversion to get mailboxes. also it may or may not get an increase in voicemail ports depending upon how may get converted.

As far as I know - and it would have gone through me - we have had no licensing upgrades done since we purchased about 6-7 years ago.
We wanted auto-attendant, MiCollab for the front office, and conferencing.
We had set up teleworkers for the users with cell phones, but (at least at the time) the app sucked the batteries down so everyone stopped using it.
Now I was thinking I could maybe use those to put some phones into our branch offices as hot lines to the head office, but I will have to investigate that option.
We have upgraded the 3300 and MAS software, but I have never discussed any license upgrades.
I find it difficult getting information on the system and its capabilities as we don't really have a technical sales contact, end up hiring a tech for a service call and trying to get info that way.
It gets expensive though!
So these changes you outlined - I should hire a tech to come in and set them up?

The 17 of 33 licenses for IP Users is what you are looking for here. I'd go ahead and make your total of 10 so that you can account for all of the licenses your bundles and stuff had provided for.
Perfect - thanks!

So you need to check the MCD and either create or see if already created additional generic sip extensions like what is already set up looks like 3. These consume full licenses and they might have been assigned elsewhere if you weren't using it. Once done add them to the conference hunt group and change the sip extension range in AWC

So how would I know if adding the generic SIP extensions are going to cause me an issue. I set one up and it didn't seem to give me any grief.
Ideally I would like to be able to have maximum 7 users on a conference, so I would need to add 3 more.
I find the Mitel licensing confusing - so the attached screen caps don't mean much to me (if they are even relevant?)

Again - your help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks so much - I will take a look at these issue tomorrow.
Disappointed that this was not outlined and set up properly when I paid for someone to come out and set up. >:(
There was no mention of the 3 phone limit, I was told we were good to go.

We have had the Mitel Application Server in place for a long time, but have never used the conferencing capabilities.
We recently updated, running version 8.1.1.101-1 of Audio, Web and Video Conferencing
We don't have any instructions or anything - so this may be a dumb question but are there limits on how many calls can come in?
We got it working, and had 2 internal callers and 1 external caller connected, but after that, no more external callers could connect.
They said that the line just rang and rang and never picked up, three other callers were attempting to call in.
I would appreciate any insights or something pointing me in the right direction.
From what I can see, we have a license for 10 ports, and I don't see any system alerts...

This release does fix the notifacation issue, however it only notifies for 20 seconds.
The next release is going to reinstate the continuous flashing notifacation.

Perfect - thanks Magpye!

This is resolved in yesterdays release

Can you (or anyone else) confirm that this Windows 10 notification problem is resolved in this build?
I will have to bring in our Mitel service technician to do the upgrade (only a few weeks after we paid to do the last one) so I would only be doing it to fix this notification issue.
Our Mitel technician told me "I checked the release notes for the latest release and it does not have the fix for this. The Knowledge Base has no mention of fix in the latest software."

Thanks Magpye - i was hpoing that was not the case.
Now I have to pay to have the phone company to come out again and upgrade the server again, just a few weeks after I paid them to do the last upgrade so we can have a client that works properly.

As for version, I was referring to the client version, not the server.
Our MAS server shows MiCollab 8.1.1.11, Mitel Standard Linux 10.6.13
Our client shows 8.1.111 Build 5074

In this thread - http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=11882.0 in the last post, boycey9 says that the issue I am experiencing (no popup) is fixed in the latest release dated March 14
How does one go about getting a copy of this? We just updated our server on March 15 to the latest version.
I see that I can upload it, but I can't figure out where to get it? We are running 8.1.111

Put option 128,129 and 130 in to the DHCP server and it should negotiate and then run from option 125 or the other one.

:) Thank you! That did it! All 3 phones (including the wiped one) worked immediately once those options were set.

From what I have read, now that they are updated, I should be clearing those options because they were reclassed to public at some point? Or does it not really matter?

I had already updated one phone by enabling teleworker, but it still would not work until I set those options in DHCP.

Plugged the 2nd phone in again and did a DHCP trace and it said it had an IP address? Pinged the 3300 no problem.
So I pulled out the 3rd refurbished phone and plugged it in.
Reset to defaults.
It does pick up an IP address - it goes to discovery, then contacting RCS, and then I get the fatal exception (see previous attachment)
I looked in the DHCP leases and found that they are all getting assigned IPs - despite the phone displays that are saying DHCP is timing out.
Then they are going into contacting RCS and then crashing.
Sorry - I assumed DHCP time out meant they were not getting to the DHCP server...

Yeah - that is why I am finding this weird, not sure why it can't see or negotiate with the DHCP server.
I took the second phone (with the main load intact) and set it into Teleworker mode and pointed it at the 3300
It updated the firmware.
Rebooted, deleted the Teleworker info and rebooted again.
Still seems to be having issues negotiating with the DHCP server.
There are at least 50 IP addresses available. No VLAN.
I made an animated GIF - hopefully this is viewable.

Sorry - I bought 3 refurbished 5320e's - 2 of them do the same thing, didn't try the third.
The first one I tried factory reset after I got the error in my second post, and then erased the main load.
It now just times out trying to find DHCP.
The second 5320e I just tried to see if I would get the same error as I did on the first one - which I did (in the picture)
A 5312 boots up fine in that port, as does a 6920.
I did change the set type in the MiVB controller when I updated the MAC address.

I am guessing I can't boot the one I erased into Teleworker, if I hold in the 7 and boot the second one, that should boot into Teleworker?
