LOL, I just got an email from one of our telecoms that the 'powers that be' are adding a fourth area code overlaying the first three in October 2021.   ::)   But hey, now I know what to do about it!

Thank you for the help.

I did get our MiVo250 dialing rules all updated with the latest area codes and exchanges local to us.

Laughing out loud!  Drag and drop...   :o

Okay I mean I'm absolutely no expert even though I've been the one running our MiVo 250 for the last decade or so (with the help of our phone supplier for updates etc).  I have not once ever encountered drag-and-drop in the DB programming application until now.

To answer your question:

I have been searching through the DB programming for nearly 2 hours now. I had reports from users that they have to enter their long distance access code for local numbers. Well it seems that this area has started using a newer area code for local exchange calls. This wasn't an issue previously as they never used this area code for local numbers here until recently.

We'll use some place holders here.
Original Area Code: 123
Secondary Area Code: 456
New Area Code: 789

123 and 456 have been used in this area for at least 2 or 3 decades, about 8 years ago they also added 789. When our phone system was setup there was absolutely no use of 789 for any numbers local to us.

Firstly I have gone to Numbering Plan > Home Area Codes and the initial installer or one at some point after, defined all three area codes in this config area.  123, 456 and 789.

When I go to Numbering Plan > User Groups > "Allowed Area Codes" is blank, "Extended Area Codes" lists only 123 and 456, and Restricted Area Codes contains all of the remaining as well as the 789 area code which I believe needs to be included with the other two in the 'Extended' list.

However, I see no way at all to edit these lists? I can't right click, I can't double click on, I can't hit delete or enter etc. There seems to be no way to remove 789 from the Restricted Area Codes list. or to add 789 to the Extended Area Codes list, I can't make any changes to this User Groups > 1 at all.

Perhaps this is not where I need to go to add 789 so that users don't need to enter the long distance code to dial out.  But currently I don't see another location where I can define all of the "local area code + exchange" dialing numbers.

Could someone please help me out?  Thank you.

Yes!  I figured it out.

Either it was rename screensaver.html to be .htm.  Or it was remove all the comments out of the top of the manifest.xml file before the <?xml version="1.0" ?> line.  One or the other, or both.  But it works now!!

I finally found this thread as reference. http://mitelforums.com/forum/index.php?topic=2474.0

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / More 5360 ScreenSaver Woes (250/5000)
« on: July 28, 2021, 12:28:12 PM »
I just acquired some inexpensive 5360s for my system having been using 5320s (and some 5330s) for years now. I thought oh wow those would be nice for the managers or directors so I can redistribute some of the older 5320s to other locations.  Well I feel like an idiot now for getting permission to buy these 5360s not knowing how utterly and terribly distracting the screensavers are that you can't disable.  I have been quietly trying to find a solution before I have to put these phones out and people get annoyed by the image changing in front of them at their desk while they're trying to work.

So I read all the forum posts I could, I acquired the HTML Tool Kit.  I feel like I followed the instructions and was successful in creating the SPX file needed with a less distracting screensaver image. I logged into the phone system's web interface and uploaded the SPX file into the HTML Apps area. I have rebooted the phone system as well just in case.

But when I go into the 250's DB Programming,  to System > Phone-Related > Applications, right click and 'Manage Applications..'  I do not see my SPX file in the list so I can not create a new application for the custom screen saver.

Screenshot attached.  So, am I missing the multi-thousand dollar license needed for this to work on the system that goes EOL in 6 months?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Those are Digital? He said they're Mitel 5340 phones which are IP.  I need Digital 85xx type phones.

Hello,

Are there any compatible digital phone sets for the Mitel Office 250 that are high humidity or outdoor rated? I am getting tired of disassembling 85xx phones to clean the receiver contacts on the circuit board. I have phones that require this every few weeks, large restaurant style kitchen, large bathrooms with hot tubs (all hot tub/whirlpools *must* have a 911 capable phone near it) and locker rooms. Many of which require me to come into work again in the middle of the night to access (because the genitals I was given in the lottery of life, are incompatible with room entry while I'm actually at work during the day).

There has to be something out there, no?!? This isn't an issue with contact corrosion, I don't see any visibly. But it seems to be purely the rubber style button contacts on the board needing to be cleaned very regularly. Mainly the receiver button. I've tried dusting the receiver contact with graphite to 'keep it dry' and that doesn't seem to last any longer than just a normal cleaning.

One suggestion I know will be 'use radio shack cheap analog phones', but I am out of analog ports or expansion card slots and honestly would just like to buy half a dozen rugged digital phones than buying a whole expansion box for more ports. I also have to consider looks as any phone would need to look more upscale, not a standard 90s POTS wall phone..

Thanks for any help and regards,

Okay thank you!

I am being asked to convert our call center to hot desking agents. I would like to have phones with no extension until hotdesk is used to log into that phone. I don't see a way to do this in our  Mitel 5000 with Firmware 6.0 SP3. When I go into the Controllers section and select an unused Port, I see the option for Digital Phone, select that, but then I must choose an extension number to continue. I guess knowing what I know about this system, everything logically has some kind of extension number whether it's a phone or programming. I guess I'm simply asking if every digital phone must have a number, or is there a way to have a digital phone exist with no extension number until someone logs in using hot desk?

Thank you.

I'd also like to add, that I missed a step in the explanation of our ACD configuration.  It goes through a STAR (day/night schedule) to direct it to either the ACD, or the after hours auto-attendant.

12
It's hard to do this while the call center is open, I can/will remote in during after-hours and toggle it and then can report back next week?

13
Let's start by turning off Hunt Group Camp-On Audio Indications for the agents.

Heh, this is already removed from the Agent's extensions. It appears that it just wasn't removed from extensions who are not part of the call-center staff, which I fall under.

14
I'm not sure I have the full terminology to explain this as a Mitel trained technician would be able to..

We have a PRI connected to the PBX and have multiple different numbers for that PRI. The PBX recognizes one specific number for the ACD (which is our incoming 1-800 number). When that number is an incoming call it directs it to an initial announcement that plays, then immediately is pushed to the ACD programming/announcements. There the call waits for an available agent.

I tested this issue with my own phone, I logged into the ACD. Called in on my cellphone, took the call from my cellphone with my ACD logged in. Then I placed the call on hold by pressing the hold button and hung up my handset. (I was using a 5320, but Agents have 8568s)

Two things happen while an ACD call (that has been answered by an agent) is placed that on hold.  First there is a periodic display and a short ring on the phone showing how many callers are waiting in the ACD.  Secondly if your phone is selected by the 'longest idle' logic in the ACD/Hunt-Group configuration, your phone will start ringing on Call Key 2, display the Caller ID of the incoming call. So this isn't just that (I think it's called?) Camp-On Notifications showing that they're seeing. I did test this and had an ACD call directed to my Extn/ACD login while the first call I accepted from the ACD was holding (me on my cellphone).

Does that answer your question?

Thank you,

Enable the system flag: Wrap Up Mode For Holding ACD Calls.

Hi DND, thank you for your help.  Unfortunately when I checked the System Flag, this option was already set to 'Yes'. (See Attachment)

Is there something that would be overriding this flag?

Thank you,
