MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Emergency 999 not working.
« on: March 18, 2014, 06:44:07 AM »

It still doesn't make sense to me why someone would program it that way, but I am sure there is a reason even though it is beyond my comprehension at this point.

:). I'm saying that with a lot of things when fixing bits and pieces.

Hence why the contract with the current phone company won't be renewed.

Have completed your original post Tech Electronics.  I was almost there but just needed to change the order.

Using 9 998 as a test number it looks like its routing it through the trunk group 7 with the analogue lines.

Can't test 999 as they don't accept test calls but from testing it looks like 9 999 now works which is what thy used before the mitel system was in.

Will ask them in the office to use it next time with the expectation of having to use 7 999 straight away if not.

Thanks for your help all. Can't say it's defiantly fixed yet but it looks good.

Thanks both for your replies.
Tried most of what you said tech electronics before seeing your post after my original post.

We seem to be able to do 7 999 which sends it through the analogue lines. They tried it out when they needed it on Fri.

9 999 doesn't seem to work for the sip lines, believe there is a form that they didn't fill in. Was hoping there would be a way to divert 999 calls when people press four 9s to the analogue lines.

Have brought it up with my manager about changing the outgoing call to 8 instead of 9 for sip.
Could hopefully then use numbering plans to divert the three 9s through the analogue lines.

Does that sound like it might work?

Hi.

7 months after we had the system in place we still ant do 999 calls as the phone company can't work it out so I'm taking over.

The system is unable to make 999 calls. When you try it just alerts the other phones.

I believe this to be excuse of two things.

Our analogue line are on number 7 and not the 1 that I believe it forwards emergency numbers to.

And they have set 9 as the sip trunk for outgoing calls.

Any ideas on the solution to this one apart from changing the outgoing 9 extension?
I though of creating a hot desk of 999 and forwarding calls through the analogue lines but it won't accept it with 9 as the outgoing.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks DND. Turns out it was the phone.

They came down to look at another problem and looked at the phone also. Just need to refuse the replacement now as they took away a new phone and gave us back a recondition scratched up old thing.

5
Yep. If she logs into a different phone it doesn't flash.

Would you say the phone needs replacing?

Hi.

One of our users call key button is flashing all the time.
It's the one you press to retrieve a call from hold or a call that's been transferred to you.

You press it and nothing happens. I've changed the button to a fwd all key ad the button works.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Thanks DND. Found the setting to turn it off always on my hunt for it.

Can't think of anytime when we use it so turned that off.

Hi.

We have several applications that get transferred to hunt groups and other applications and they go straight through.

I've just created another to transfer to a hunt group and it says please wait whilst we transfer your call... When you press that option of the application.

I can't find the setting now to the this off.
3 days until my first holiday in three years and I'm struggling at the min. :(

Thanks

Hi,

Just reinstalled my machine which means reinstalling the mitel system administration program.

Its probably something really simple but i get the error
There are no DB Programming versions installed.
when i load it up.

Where/What would this be?

Just tried running the installer again and it says it couldnt run the installer.

Thanks

Update:  Uninstalled and re-instaleld using the same installer and it works fine now.
It seems the bit that tries to install something to theframework fouls up the rest of the mitel installer.

Will give it a go thanks.
It doesnt seem to do it at the same place from a bit of testing.

Sometimes if you type it quick or slow it fails on the 8th number.

Sometimes at other points.

Havnt worked out what the common reason for it.

They have just got the proper system working so it's not urgent as much now but will keep looking.

The phone company changed something to 7 seconds which seemed to give a chance of ringing out.

Might be multiple timers I need to go through.

Just asked the phone company tech if we could remove these keys and he said we shouldnt as he did with the IC call key.

Before asking i removed the IC key and could still make calls internally so not sure he knows 100%.

Do we really need these as they are taking two spaces on everyones phone and they only have 11?

Many thanks

Never used anythin but the 5000 series and every problem ive come across seems to have the answer 'They have removed that feature in the 5000 series'.

Im starting to follow the rule, if it aint broke dont try and fix it.

Hi,

We are still running on the backup system while the phone company sorts out the internet line.

The problem that they cant seem to work out is that if you press 7 to dial out on one of the four backup lines you have to type the number in mega quick or it will just say the number has not been recognised.

I believe the error is the same as what you get on a home phone if you dont type the number correctly.  I dont believe its the systems giving the error but something in the system causing it.

Any ideas on this one?

Many thanks

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Disconnected calls not releasing lines?
« on: August 20, 2013, 01:57:55 PM »
Hi.

We are currently on the backup phone lines as we are waiting for the ISP to sort the net out.

If someone calls the number and hangs up the call continues on our end blocking up the line until someone picks the phone up and puts down again.

If they dial a extention and hang up we loose one of the four lines unless we can find who need to login.

Is there a setting in the administration program that's hangs up when caller disconnects?

Thanks

Thanks acejavelin, but i think this is aleady setup as i remember voicmail (2500) as forward 1 and the phones using that forward path.

Will double check tomorrow.
Remember to double click into the path on the extension and make sure the forward conditions are set correctly.

Also remember that calls to a hunt group will not follow a members forward path.

Thank You!

The answer was i missed the 'Fwd Call Type - IC Calls'

Is there any way to batch change this?

Thanks
