MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Mitel 5000 system lockup caused by 1 extension

Mitel 5000 was installed fall of 2012.  System was completely locked up and all errors showed X213.  Reboot would not clear.  Problem cleared when X213 was unplugged.  I have never seen 1 phone take an entire system down.  The extension was an old Inter-tel 8520 phone.  Is this normal or ?
