I got it myself: System Properties -> System Feature Settings -> System Speed Calls, add a new entry for the new number.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / New number cannot receive external calls
« on: September 06, 2013, 05:24:40 AM »
When we moved on to mitel phone system, we provided a list of existing phone numbers and the engineer set up these numbers in the new system.

We just received 2 new staff and for the 1st time we added new phone numbers in the system (handset 5312). We copied from an existing number in the admin web portal, and created the numbers. e.g. to create 5057. It seems created fine. Internal calls can be dialed and received, external call can be dialed.

However, when an external caller dials the new number 01xxx xx5057, the handset is silent, but the caller hears normal calling tone from his end.

(I wonder if there is a range setting to be modified, e.g. maybe there is a range of 5001-5056, which needs to be expanded to 5001-5057?)

Any idea? Thanks for in advance for any input!

I was asked to add a US number in the phone directory.

e.g. 0016038324567 (the number is modified but is a valid number).

The system says it is an unknown number. I played with it for a while, the pattern seems to be that the system does not like numbers begin with 001. (00 is fine, because we have 0048********* in the directory).

I cannot find a rule saying 001****** is not allowed. Does anyone know where the problem lies? Many thx.

What does your display say when the call is rejected?  Invalid Number?  or Not allowed?

Ralph

Thanks, the person above you provided very useful lead and I found where to fix the problem.

Check the maximum digits dialed form in the ARS section.

Ah! I found it ! Thanks for your lead!

In ARS digit dialed, number of digits to follow after dialing '00' was set to 11 digits only. I changed it to 12, now it is OK.!

Hi

We just started to use mitel phone system. The handsets are mainly 5312.

The system was configured as such that we can call an external number without dialing '9', i.e. we can dial the number directly. However, if the external number is longer than 13 digits, the trailing numbers cannot be entered (rejected).

I know there is a way to by-pass this, i.e. there is a combination of keys you can dial before dialing the real phone number. Does anyone know about this?

Many thanks for any input.!

I have a question regarding the backup: we are a small organization using about 30 mitel phones. We just started a back up job and it is still running after 2 hours.

I wonder if this is normal? Does it take this long or if we have done something incorrectly?

Many thanks for any input.

Hi, I am new to this forum, hopefully it is OK to post my question here.

We just migrated to Mitel system and most users use 5312 system.

I tried to do a conference call within the company by:
- calling person A and establish the phone call
- press the little 'people' button (the conference call button), then dial person B's number
- now 3 parties are in the conference, me, person A, person B
- person B hangs up. This causes the whole call session to end.

I'd expect that when person B leaves the call, the call between person A and me remains.

So what's the trick to do the conference call 'properly'? I am really puzzled... Any help is appreciated. many thx
