MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: phantom extension
« on: September 12, 2014, 07:44:03 PM »
I too have used the hunt group method a couple of times.
put a ring group with two members in it (the phantom and your extension) into the hunt group.

when your extension rings, only your key flashes - pick up answer the call
when the hunt group rings, both your key and the phantom key flash - pick up - answer the call

easy to tell what number was dialed.

we have been a 200 and 3300 dealer for years. we have just taken on the 5000 line and are soon to do our first "upgrade" from a 200ICP to a 5000 re-using the 5212 and 5224 sets. have gotten good at telling the customer what to expect when going from a 200ICP to a 3300, but have nothing on this migration.
Does anyone have a list of expected differences? I can see it will be quite long as HOLD is about the only feature that works the same and was hoping on a head start.
thank you very much for any insight. I will be posting in other forums and will update all with my compiled findings.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: UCA 5 Accounts keep deactivating
« on: June 21, 2013, 11:33:39 PM »
this is expected behaviour if you are running your UCA in a virtual environment and you have not purchased the virtual license. This was happening on one of our sites. it was virtual before virtual was sanctioned. I upgraded it and didn't think to check for the license as it has virtual before. Had to reactivate every day. First thing tech support asked.

funny, I just ran into this same thing this week.
as per the help file, this is expected behaviour. it says to press * before your mailbox number.
so from outside, the first * gets you to the message center and you need to press another * before the mailbox number.
turns out that this seems to work for when you have the EAG enabled and when you don't so this will be our new procedure.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Serving Teleworker IP via DHCP
« on: April 26, 2013, 09:16:13 AM »
Assume you mean a dhcp server at a remote site, serving addresses to multiple teleworker phones.
If that is the case, yes we have done it. Use the MBG WAN address in option 128 & 129. The usual in 130.
You can even add diff service.
