Though version 2.0.0.3 is what you'll receive now. You'll need to download the .zip,  extract the contents and then run the .exe file that says Mitel Audiotex Tool.  The first time using it Windows will repeatedly ask if you are sure if you want to run these files - you can uncheck the box so it won't keep asking for each file. The software will not harm your computer.

FYI - this is the demo version.  You'll need to activate to get the full version. You can PM me for that.

In regards to garbling, make sure your call configuration is optimized for Remote on the Teleworking phones...not saying you have to use G.729  but the Remote configuration is optimized for Audio Frames per packet, etc.   To keep the better sounding G.711 but optimize for remote, just create a new Call Configuration, copy the Remote onto it, and update the new one to use G.711.   I have used G.729 without much complaint.

I'm assuming a LIM cannot follow a system forward path, nor go to voicemail, nor can it transfer a call to another extension, Correct?  I was assuming it was a "dumb device' paired to one button on one phone, nothing more.  Anything more, Mitel would say hey, get a Controller.  I just want to make sure I was correct in these thoughts.

In this case, if I tell them to dial the star code with the phone company do a CF No Answer,  This will do exactly what they need.

Thank you!   I sure couldn't see the forest through all these trees.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Line Interface Module?

I've never had to set one of these up before, until today.  Unpacked the LIM and followed all the instructions: snapped into the back of a 5330, installed the screw, and attached the included 4P4C cord from the headset jack of the phone to the "headset" jack on the LIM.

Phone booted up and asked "ANALOG LINE CONFIGURE?" so I hit yes, Country 1, Failover Only off, and Privacy off, and then save to NVRAM. It didn't ask me where I would like to the put the "ANALOG LINE" key as the guide eluded to.  But anyhow, phone booted up fine, I briefly saw the "ANALOG LINE" key appear on page 1, but my keymap soon loaded and overwrote where it was.

I called the line hooked to the LIM and the set rang fine, but there was no way to answer, because there is no LIM key. Also there is no way to call out on the LIM for that same reason.  From what I can tell, there is no feature code that represents that key, it comes from the set itself somehow.

Questions:  how do I set / program the ANALOG LINE key?
What is the 4P4C cord for, between the headset jacks?
Does the LIM support FSK caller ID? (Didn't have my buttset handy to listen for the FSK burst)  but none came thru on the display.

System software is 6.0 SP1 PR5.

HX Controllers have an ARM processor and run the Debian Linux operating system. Processing servers are Intel but they also run Debian Linux.   If you're looking for something like a Windows Registry, give up now.

7
You've probably already been in here, but just to be sure, did you go under the SIP Phone - Forwarding Paths - 1

And make sure everything is set to Yes except for Ring Principal Once and Station - Immediate

8
Under the SIP phone, take a look under Associated Extensions.  Did you point Voicemail to 2500?

Ahh - thank you guys and sorry for the confusion . I didn't know SP2 was out already.  I am behind yet again.  Can anyone post the release notes? I'm getting a 404 trying to view it in MOL

What is your system software version?

And to fix the other bugs you haven't discovered yet, upgrade to SP1 PR5.

PR4 was ok,  PR3 was a dud and was led to PR4 being an emergency build.   I can't remember what PR2 was about.

The 5000 uses RTP to transport audio and it isn't sent in the clear for obvious reasons.    Generic SIP phone traffic is though, so your only option is to use old SIP firmware on that particular telephone set and join the set to the 5000 as a SIP phone, and lose a ton of functionality in the process.  You'll also need a category F license for each SIP phone you wish to add.

Short version, don't do this.  What are you trying to accomplish?

13
As far as I am aware....the 6 IP network licenses is for a new sale on a controller, so a license upgrade with AMC to v6 will merely transfer your old license over.  Same thing with the category D licenses.

From memory, they're just glorified PoE injectors. Expensive too.  One line goes from the injector to the phone, the other to your LAN.  Plug in the wallwart to give it 48V DC.

Personally, I use PoE switches or use a cheap injector when needed.

It's no secret that v6 has had its bugs.   Don't worry too much about the phone support;  when I was calling about the loopstart issues they said that no fix was in the works, but the patch for it appeared just a week later on the engineering site.  There may be a bit of a disconnect between the phone support staff and the engineers writing the patches.

I think Mitel does less software testing than Inter-Tel may have done, which means we must rely on the customer to find the bugs. But at least they are fixing them
