Non-Mitel Chatter / Re: SIPvicious
« on: March 24, 2013, 06:29:13 PM »
We are a sip provider and system installer (by god that makes things much easier!) but most devices ( even your media gateway type devices) have fire-walling built in, if not most are linux based (usually debian, with some asterix type add-on) you can add your own ip table rules to stop that.

If you are feeling particularly devious, you can setup fail2ban or indeed ip tables to limit the number of connects per second, (in our experience people trying to hack sip trunks, rarely are polite and just try one call).

I don't want to bore you all with details linuxy details, but if you would like them just holler,

You can always use sipvicious against yourself, its a very easy way to make sure you are relatively safe,

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: DDI Calls routing randomly
« on: March 18, 2013, 12:08:15 PM »
Hi All.

Calls don't route through voicemail, (although some have announcements after 20 seconds but they never get that far)

The caller doesn't get a message just ringing, straight to attendant.

the attendant is the recall destination.

The DNIS digits are coming throug. 99% of the time the call routes to the correct place, its just that random 1%

We can't see any pattern, tried with busy, outgoing.

we have raised a ticket with mitel themselves, if we get anything I'll let oyu all know!

Hi All.

I have DDI's going to acd groups.

Sometimes, ( I can't see a pattern) it goes direct to the attendant?  any ideas on this one?

It happens across multiple trunks and DDI's, and there appears to be no pattern

Personally I usually find layer 9 issues to be the main ones I run into :)

I probably should post that this was a very complex issue and took hours to resolve.

it did take hours to resolve.

mostly due to layer 8 issues :)

if you plug headphones in an ipod to test, then take headphones out to plug the ipod into the system the music pauses.

most definately an id10t error.

Sorry fellas!

« on: March 12, 2013, 06:27:26 AM »
Hi All.

Bit of a bizzare one here,

I have a 5000 with 4 file based music on hold licenses, which work spot on. but the input on the back of the 5000 doesn't, I've tested this with headphones in to the ipod (that plays the music) and all is well, but I can't get the music to appear when on hold.

I've set the group to use 5000 cp for moh and the trunks to use whatever is on the next device?

Any ideas?

we actually found a way round this,

the 5000 can support 300 groups out the box you just need to tweak some hidden settings, under the advanced options in programming you can increase groups from 75 to 300.

Standard disclaimer applies if it  breaks something important, it was the other guy!

hi mikey0

not an issue, its only a small site, so we just programmed the phones individually, (its how we have to do it with our other systems anyways).

This one is on the back burner so to speak.

Thanks anyway

Actually sussed this by accident :) if you double click the keymap, it shows the key assignments.

However this throws up a second issue,

How do you set this up for a hot desk?

That was my first plan, using 2 groups,  but we have 50 already.
its a brand new install (Literally it is going in as I type this!) we don't have the ps-1 modul/unit.

I've played with the audio settings and I can get ringing or music on hold, can't get both to work. (I may be doing it wrong)

Hmm ok, back to the drawing board!

Thanks

Hi All.

Does anyone know how to get rid of the non-programmable keys on a 5320 (on a 5000 hx)

It seems bizarre that out 11 keys on the beasty only 4 are usable?
