Mitel Software Applications / Re: MSL is sending spam.

On the web interface of the MSL box go in to E-mail Settings and make sure that SMTP email injection restrictions is set to Local Host Only. If it is set to either of the other two options, then it means that the box is open as a relay to either the local network, or to who ever is able to connect to it, which if it is a MBG server could mean that it is open to anyone on the internet to relay through.

I had this same issue as well at a customers site. It wasn't a virtual install though, and I wasn't able to find a resolution.
I have since installed a virtual instance at another site and didn't have the issue, so hadn't thought any more about it until I saw this.

UCA 4.0 was GA on Feb 2 (I think). If you are at 3.2 then you have a direct upgrade path to 4.0, very simple to do. See your VAR for this, if you are a VAR see the release notes.
Yep upgrade was very smooth, and no hassles at all. Just take a backup first (and a VM snap shot if your are running virtualised) just in case.
The upgrade is well worth it just for the client. It's now much more stable, smooth, polished, and even upgraded itself!

At the moment we're using UCA 2.0.
Does somebody know if the new UCA 4.0 is supporting automatic logon (based on PC username) and LDAP Sync again?

I'm told that with UCA 3.0 every user needs to login manually once on every PC.

I didn't see anything mentioned in the Admin or Engineering guides for 4.0. Yep you are correct for 3.2 you don't get SSO.
I haven't upgraded yet, but this afternoon we will be giving it a shot going from 3.2 to 4.0.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: OCS/Lync Intergration

There shouldn't be a need to use LBG.
There is a document from Mitel explaining how to establish a SIP trunk between the mediation server and MCD, which removes the need for LBG all together. I haven't tried Lync yet, but OCS does work.
I can't find a link to the document at the moment on MOL, but it is there somewhere!
