Mitel Software Applications / Re: Can Nupoint do fax-to-email?
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:02:56 AM »
For fax services to work, you must first have the appropriate license... then you must build a fax group and associate it with the Incoming and Outgoing Line Groups, until you do this step, nothing else will work!

- Add FBits 190-196, 200, 235, 240, 263, 264, 280, 290 to a Fcos and apply to mailbox.
- Modify mailbox to have a Fax Call Access type of 0, set the Default Fax Retrieval Number of the fax machine, and for Web/Printer Driver receipt enable a Call Placement Access Type of 0

Assuming you are using the regular Embedded VM, this is very simple...

In ESM, go to Voice Mail -> System Settings -> VM Options

In the "Restrict Numbers that begin with..." field, add "2" (without quotes) to the existing settings. This will prevent all calls beginning with the digit 2 from being dialed from the auto-attendant.

See the help on that page for more details, but it is pretty straight forward.

Assuming you have other working TW phones, have the user default the phone... The procedure is slightly different depending on software version of the phone, but essentially, plug in the phone well holding the Volume Down button and continue holding it until a menu appears, navigate to Tools, enter that menu and look for Restore Defaults or Reset Defaults. Then the phone will reboot, hold down the 7 button to enter Teleworker mode and reconfigure your TW IP address, save and reboot.

If this doesn't fix your issue it is likely the firmware has been corrupted, and I would replace the set.

Assert errors are usually indications of set related problems...

Sounds good, no rush I guess... haven't had it this long so a few more days probably won't matter.

1. What bobcheese said

2. Possibly, but I wouldn't... the amount you would save would be insignificant, especially if you have problems, or worse, strange intermittent problems later that could be RAM relates. If memory serves me correctly, it is not the same type of memory your average laptop uses, don't hold me to it, but I think it is ECC Registered memory...

Remember that if you are going to upgrade you will need to make sure that your software assurance if valid, otherwise you can't change the software version.

You don't really pay for an IRC channel, you would pay for IRC server hosting, but I don't think it is really necessary... then again, I don't really know that much about it other than I am involved in several other channels for various things and it really helps a lot.

Works for me. OFTC and Freenode are good, open networks.
I don't think MitelForums discussion would fit the terms for either of these hostings, as they are about free/open source software... right now I am looking at EFnet and sorcery.net, but the later is hosted in the EU and lag times can get rather significant at times (for me at least).

If anyone has a better idea for a free IRC channel hosting service, that is stable and reliable, please let me know and I will look into it.

Non-Mitel Chatter / MitelForums IRC Channel?

So, do we have an IRC channel people can go to? Is this something people are interested in?

For the less-savvy Internet user, IRC is Internet Relay Chat or more generally a real-time chat room that would (in this case) be dedicated for Mitel Forum users and Mitel topics where we could communicate and help people with issues in real time.

If people are interested in this, I could probably get it setup, there are IRC channels for all kinds of stuff, finding the hosting and getting it setup shouldn't be a problem.

There's no setting that will stop them from turning the ring volume down.
So here's two choice I just thought up
  • Put an overhead loud bell in their area
  • Let them know if they don't answer the phone because they need to concentrate then they can have all the time they want to concentrate at home

LOL!!! Love option #2!!!

I know the cordless devices are not supported in the SIP firmware, and if you flash back and forth you will lose the pairing (and every other setting in the device), so sorry, but basically you are boned trying to get the cordless accessories to work in SIP mode, it is just not going to work.

The correct way to do this for a hunt group that doesn't have a mailbox is create an Extension ID for the hunt group, then go into that ExID and change Auto Attendant Transfer Prompt to No... that will take care of the AA transfer prompt.

3927
Seems like a good idea... will shoot an email to our Mitel rep.

3928
"Thanks for the responses, seems ridiculous the 5000 can't do simple things such as this natively."

That's funny, I say the same thing about the 3300.  "Remote phones have to connect using the MAS."  Really?
No, not really, but that is the only supported configuration...

3929
sounds good... i have a customer that wants to be able to pass through Gig-E on half-dozen or so phones and is on a 3300 at release 9, so they should work... will let him know.

Mitel is pleased to announce the new 5300 e-Series IP Phones with Embedded Gigabit. The 5320e, 5330e and 5340e IP Phones deliver all the same features that are available on the current 5320, 5330 and 5340 IP Phones, but with powerful new enhancements. Embedded Gigabit support, Wideband Audio on the new 5320e IP Phone, double the amount of RAM for future features and applications support as well as IPv6 support are just some of the exciting new features of the e-Series IP Phones.
So does anyone know if these will work on on older 3300, like a release 8 or 9?
