Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: How to bypass main greeting
« on: November 16, 2012, 05:53:35 PM »
Is this using a Call Director application? If so, just define a shortcut/menu option to # (or something else) to go directly to the message center or directly to a mailbox, that is usually the easiest way.

What voicemail system are you using, the embedded Mitel Messaging, Nupoint, or something else?

In all of these cases the DHCP server is handled by the customer's IT "department", I will have to talk to them and see if we can switch it to 125. I don't think this is a DHCP issue though, it is being handled by Windows servers in all cases, and if jump into config mode of the phone when it is like this everything in the current IP settings is correct, it just can't seem to make the MiNet connection.

EDIT: Scratch the possibility of it being a DHCP issue, my on-call tech got a call of this issue last night at a car dealership (one of the ones having this issue), and as I quizzed him on it some this morning he reminded me that this site doesn't have DHCP at all, the entire network is all statically assigned. When he was troubleshooting this he tried plugging the phone into several open spots on the Edgewater switch and it did the same thing, went to the back where the phone system is with a little 5-port switch connected and a POE injector ahead of the Edgewater switch and the phone booted fine, reset the switch and then worked again. Looks like the next time this happens it is grab some captures and go back to Edgewater Networks and see what they say.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Edgewater PoE Switches and the 5000
« on: November 15, 2012, 04:17:45 PM »
I have three sites that have a Edgewater Networks EdgeConnect 2402PoE Switch http://edgewaternetworks.com/products/edgeconnect-switch/overview.html (We use a TON of these switches for out hosted SIP service and they just work, never have to touch them once setup)

All three of these sites are relatively smaller, with 15-24 IP phones that are all Mitel 53xx series phones, and are basic, flat networks... no VLANs, one DHCP server with option 43 built, etc. with v5.0 or v5.1 Mitel 5000 HX systems, and the switches are all just factory defaults except for an IP address appropriate for the network and PC's connected through the phones. The issue that seems to crop up is about once every month two is if a phone is unplugged and reconnected, it won't reconnect to the 5000, it gets DHCP and sees option 43 then goes all the way to the "SET IP: xx.xx.xx.xx ICP: xx.xx.xx.xx" screen and just sits there and never connects. All the other phones continue to work properly, even if their DHCP expires and is renewed, but if any phone is unplugged the same issue occurs and they just get stuck at the same screen. Power cycling the switch solves the problem in every instance. PC's and other devices that are disconnected/reconnected have no issues. The kicker is that I have the same switches installed on smaller Mitel 3300's with similar phones and this issue never occurs, I also have these switches installed in two sites that have VLANs configured, never had an issue either. Any thoughts?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Number Parsing for my Location

Hmmm... guess I am not really sure. Probably a tech support question, are you an authorized technician, if so opening an online ticket through Tech Central Tracker would probably best, otherwise probably want to have your dealer open one.

It is actually pretty clearly spelled out in the user documenation on unifiedcommunicatorexpress.com, look here: http://download.unifiedcommunicatorexpress.com/ucx/3.2/UCExpress_3.2_Users_Guide.pdf starting on page 51 or so...

« on: November 13, 2012, 11:05:48 AM »
The dialer hears be-ep, be-ep, be-ep. Like a busy signal, just with beeps instead of buzzes.  :D
You get this when you just dial 8+/Outgoing+7-Digits or do you get his when you dial the trunk group extension number + 7-digits? What does the display of the phone show?

Create a System Forwarding Path that goes to Hunt Group YYYY.  Assign that Forwarding path to extension xxxx.  You can change the conditions by double clicking on that particular forwarding path under the station.
Also make sure to disable the manual busy/NA forwarding, that takes precedence over System Forward. You also need to make sure that the System Forwarding station level flag is turned on.

Mitel Software Applications / Re: add more MBG license to this Demo Kit

That is a change from how things used to be... I know our "demo" 3300 turned into our office system and we added several licenses too it at one time.

I think you are missing what ghost said about teleworker mode, put the phone in teleworker mode on the local lan and use the 3300's INTERNAL IP address, not the teleworker gateway. This will test the wether DHCP is the cause of the issue or not, because with those settings in there it will ignore options 43/125/128.

BTW, in non-Mitel servers providing DHCP, I quite using 125 or 128/129/130 and now use strictly option 43, it is so much easier to setup.

No, it only works with Nupoint, and if you don't have Nupoint make sure to remove the Voicemail Server IP address from the UCA configuration, it should be blank unless you actually have Nupoint.

Yeah, this would be very helpful sometimes...

Here is an SMF mode to put country flags on users, it might be be good enough for what we are looking for: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=417

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: voice -> email extremely buggy?
« on: November 09, 2012, 12:12:53 AM »
The problem is you are trying to use Enhanced Integration where Forward only or Copy and Forward should be used... to use Enhanced Integration you need to setup IMAP on your email server, and enter the USERS LOGIN and PASSWORD individually on each mailbox. Go to the Unified Messaging section of a Voicemail box and press F1 and read the help!

Phone Firmware Version 01.00.00.10
This bothers me a little bit... I don't think this is correct and it looks like the firmware is corrupted, it shouldn't be a 1.x revision anytime.

Seems to me this what the phones display if the power gets pulled during flashing, and they are bricked...

Also, when defaulting I always hold VOL-DOWN when powering up, then when the menu comes up press NO until you get to "Tools and Features" then select YES, then NO until you get to "RESTORE DEFAULTS", then "CONFIRM" YES.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Clustered call park issues
« on: November 08, 2012, 08:21:04 AM »
Has something to do with the clustering, I changed the COS of the IP Trunks (added the Local Music on Hold) and now I get 2-3 seconds of MOH, then it jumps to a different spot in the file which I am assuming is jumping controllers in the cluster... weird... and not what the documentation suggests, it only talks about MOH being supplied by the parker or the caller's cluster element, not the park location's element. Gave up playing with it yesterday, gonna hit it fresh this morning.

Weird part is, this never came up after years of running 9.0, but did with a couple weeks of upgrading to 4.2
