If someone has this I would be interested in a copy too... it seems to me Inter-Tel has a data collection spreadsheet years ago but I haven't seen it in a long time. We have been using a hacked version of one we use for the 3300 but it is not the best for the 5000 (and to be honest, it's not really good for the 3300 either but it's better than nothing).

It doesn't work that way in the 5000... You want to recall the hunt group to a phantom extension, then use phone remote programming to call forward always the phantom to an outside number. Should be good to go.

Download the TNA (Teleworker Network Analyzer) from the Teleworker server and run it from a remote location, it will tell you exactly what ports are open or closed.

Sorry for the ignorance, but is NuPoint a totally different product or a module I could add on?
Nupoint Voicemail is a stand-alone server or part of the MAS (Mitel Application Server) bundle and is a highly flexible and configurable voice mail solution. It can be integrated with most Mitel products, you would need to contact your vendor for pricing and more information.

« on: November 28, 2012, 12:10:57 AM »
Hi Everyone,

I'm new to our Mitel and have a questions about functionality. I would like to set up what I thought would be a relatively common flow:
1) Have an auto-attendant provide the first level of options.
2) If certain options are called, have the user put on hold and notify the appropriate phones that there is a call waiting.
3) If the call is not picked up, time out and divert to a new auto-attendant that gives the caller the option to continue to hold, to leave a message or transfer to an operator.

Our supplier didn't seem to think this was possible until I pointed out that Park and Page mailboxes seemed to do what I wanted. Our supplier advised that this is possible but the extra license called Embedded Voice Mail PMS, which will be quite an additional $$.

Can anyone advise if using a Park and Page mailbox is how they would approach setting up the functionality described above?

Any help is most appreciated.

Regards,
Andrew
Unless I am missing something, you need to find another vendor because this one is either just trying to screw you for money, or legitimately have no idea what they are doing... I do not see how enabling Embedded VM PMS would do you ANY good at all, that license it to enable integration between the voice mail system and a hospitality Property Management System (ie. a Hotel management system like Encore, Micros, Autoclerk, NiteVision, etc) to allow room phone's mailboxes to be checked in/out, names inserted automatically at checkin to the dial by name directory, and a few other miscellaneous hospitality features.

That being said, what do you mean by "notify"? To me that means ringing the phone, and if that is case what you are looking for is very simple and should not be difficult to accomplish, although the auto-attendant in the embedded voice mail of the 3300 is very limited and there any many things it cannot do, for the most part it is nothing but a glorified answering machine.

When exactly are trying to accomplish, can you give a more detailed explanation and a cradle to grave call flow of a sample call?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Re: "Panic" Notify feature?
« on: November 27, 2012, 11:57:51 PM »
Interesting way of doing it on the 3300, it will probably work but isn't it kind of overkill? Couldn't you just put a Multicall Appearance of x3333 (or whatever you want) and set the appearance to Ring Constantly, and make sure those sets have non-Prime line call display and essentially accomplish the same thing?

As far as on the 5000, I am not sure now... what the customer is telling me is NOT what I am seeing happening. When I do a Feature 00 and look at the button marked Panic, it is nothing but a key that is "Group Page *72" meaning it is doing nothing but a page to a group of phones. And when I tried it, it only works when the set is idle but it does activate a one-way page to four phones and they can hear what is going on in the office that pressed the button. I am starting to think this might be one of those things that the sales person "I don't know if it can do that, let me check on it and get back to you" and it kind of festered into something much larger. I need to do some more checking...

What model phones are they? Mitel IP Phones operating using a proprietary protocal called "MiNet", it is not compatible with Avaya equipment. That being said, many models of the Mitel phones are dual-mode and can be flashed with SIP firmware and run in SIP mode, assuming your Avaya can do SIP they should be able to work, although the amount of integration and feature availability may be limited.

You might be best off to sell them on eBay or through other channels and use the money to buy some refurbished Avaya phones.

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / "Panic" Notify feature?
« on: November 27, 2012, 05:54:52 PM »
I have a customer that is moving from an Avaya Partner to the 5000, and on the old Avaya they had a feature on the phone labelled "Panic" and when pressed it would silently make a one-way intercom call to preset extension that would be notified with a tone and a message in the display in the event there was an issue with a client in the office or on the phone and they need immediate assistance. I have seen something like this in call centers called "Assist". Is there something on the 5000 like this?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: 5330 Phone in failover
« on: November 26, 2012, 10:04:37 AM »
Failover simply means the phone switched from the Primary ICP to the Secondary ICP due to connectivity reasons... it lost contact with the Primary ICP and went into "failover" to the Secondary ICP. When it returned it will go into registration reason is "Forced" and it should do it on it's own when the Secondary Controller can reliably communicate with the Primary of the resilient pair. In a properly built clustered network environment this should not be service effecting to the user, except during the period that the phone actually switches controllers. To force a phone back, assuming the Primary Controller is operating properly, it can simply be rebooted or wait until the phone automatically switches back.

Not really sure why a Windows server would have to be used, FTP is a fairly industry standard protocol and should be irrelevant of the operating system. We have used both Windows and Linux servers without any issues as well.

This is likely not a CPU usage issue, I have seen CPU usage well over 50% with no "lag" issues on phones at all.

You are on the highest revision of software within the 5.0 "stream" and it was released August of 2011, although if you have software assurance through Mitel you can get up to 5.1SP2 which is the current release. The console version 3.2 is correct and the most current.

The only alternative to the Receptionist console is the UCA Receptionist, but if you don't like the 5000's native console I highly doubt you would like the UCA console either.

The only other time I have seen this issue is when you put lots of CO Line keys on phones (ie. lines 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 on buttons across lots of phones) but I haven't seen it using Call Keys.

Are you using analog CO lines or a PRI? Do you have this same issue if you replicate it from internal phones, or only from outside lines?

I also recommend using the mail services in MAS, it is fairly simple to setup and very reliable, although documentation for using it in such a way is almost non-existent, and since you have one already the price is pretty good. :)

3779
Check your VM ports COR and Tenent restrictions, this is the most likely culprit.

I haven't had any customers report this issue... What software version are you running? Also, if you look in the MSA&D screen, is the CPU usage very high? Does it do this after a reboot? I find in most 5000's with "odd" issues, setting up a scheduled reboot once a week during the night clears up strange issues.
