Mitel Software Applications / Re: Upgrade CCM Server 32bit to 64bit.

The only issue would be if IQ is present in the CCM otherwise I think the data would carry forward as you can upgrade 5.8 to 6 and 6 to 7.

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: Operator Voicemail ?
« on: June 23, 2014, 08:11:58 AM »
Would say its not the operator who has a mailbox given that you can't MWI the console. Its more there is a general greeting mailbox which is a dumping group if the voicemail doesn't know what to do with a call.

So you options are have the voicemail dial out to indicate it has a message, email or have the operators login as part of their moring process.

Do you need to schedule an event to go from night to day?

Depending on timers could you not give Jane do a pickup of the dudes extension. Set his phone to delay ring the dudes prime and let it normally go to VM. Just need a log enough call forward timer to allow this.

Note you don't own the licenses that come with the system so their are so legal aspects to it but if you are not trying to sell it as a working systems I don't think anyone will be  kicking down your door.

If you get a system with licenses then you are free to play with it. It only needs to get to the AMC when you are adding licenses but otherwise it will work. You might have access to the application record but I doubt you will have access to the AMC licensing center. I might suggest you would not want to sync to the AMC as whoever sold it to you might have moved the licenses off your applicaiton  record before they sold it to you. Syncing would  then blank your system licenses. You will not be able to buy additional licenses without vendor  intervention to relicense  the system. Agree you would not want to pay to have that done just for a lab. Otherwise have fun.

To make a system expanded you are going from the base 64 E2T channels and 64 echo cancellors to 128 of each. All you need to do is buy the proper expansion kit to truly go "expanded". You can add a second power supply and second hard drive on the base system. As suggested you have the right components listed but might need to make sure the ones being ordered are compatible with older controllers. The expanded kit is composed of two cards ( Processor card and echo cancellor card ).

IF you check the tech handbook under the FRU section you will see the MXe II and MXE III do have different part numbers for the RAID card and processor card.

In MCD 4 Mitel introduced a new database structure referred to as GDM or ( RDN with SDS). Release 3 to 9 software can't be configured in this new database model so what you have to do is go from Release 9 to MCD 4 ( SP4 is the best load to use ) and then turn on GDM. Once the system is at MCD 4 using the GDM database you can upgrade all the way to MCD 7 in one jump. Note there are help files in MCD 4 that will step you through the process of turning on GDM. I suggest your review them.

Agreed the newer ( around MCD 5 I think ) allows the scheduling of night service.

There are help files built into the system that you can review if you have issues programming on the 3300. Try x-mans suggestion.

Have to keep watch then for a program to upgrade existing 5550 consoles to the new console.

5550 still available just adding another option.

Agree about the DNIC sets although I would  prefer they come up with an ASUII card that supports them rather then individual devices. Thing would be  recreating the hardware needed to support the phones. Don't imagine some of the chips on the MC330 cards are easy to get anymore.

29
What kind of phone? Is there potential its cross talk i.e picking up ringing for some other set. Can't otherwise think why you would get rining over the speaker when you are handsfree.
