That makes perfect sense, and we'd involve the vendor before any upgrades.  We're running into random problems right now and it would be nice if a new version fixed those issues.  While I normally trust my vendor, it's issues like this where it would be nice to point at a new version and say "hey, let's try this"

We have that.

It's no problem to get a new license from our vendor, they're just not very good about telling us there is a new version to upgrade to.

Which is something I wouldn't have access to.

Thanks

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Latest version for 5000?
« on: March 23, 2017, 08:02:44 PM »
Is anyone aware of a site that lists the most recent software updates to the 5000?

I've never seen anything like that in programming; as you've seen, the option is just for one station.

I send the voicemail to a group email box to alleviate the problem of having a single person on vacation.

Again, random; all phones are affected

I guess I should say those alarms happen on the affected phones, it's never a system wide alarm.  (We do have 10-15 external phones on varying connections)

Absolutely random.  We had a bunch of errors yesterday morning, but none yesterday afternoon.

SSH is blocked from the outside.  We have both PRI and SIP, but SIP accounts for 99% of incoming calls.

The switches are Procurve 5406's and the phones are on their own VLAN (same as system) with QoS enabled.  If I have bandwidth issues on these $5,000 switches, I have  a big problem.

We do record conversations, but that's done via Tracer.

What's G.729?  We do not have the PS1, but CPU usage is normally under 25% (I don't know if that's a good indicator or not)

We do get insufficient bandwidth warnings once in a while since these issues started, but that's not normally something we see.

If it helps, here's a list of ports open to the outside

tcp-udp/69, tcp/3998-3999, tcp/44000, tcp/5566, tcp/6800-6802, tcp/6880, udp/20001, udp/5004-5007, udp/6004-6261

We're fighting an issue where random calls have no audio, or the phone keeps ringing after it's been answered.  This applies to both IC calls and external calls.  Our vendor has replaced all of the guts in the phone system and we've opened several tickets with Mitel, but they appear to be getting no where.

Because of the fact this is happening to IC calls, it can't be a carrier issue.

CPU usage and memory usage are normal

I think TE's right...we had this issue with certain headsets and had to enable a flag to make them work.

What about using DEE to ring both sides at once?

Sorry for the late reply.  I did this, but when DEE directs the call to the phantom, it doesn't pick door.

I have a user that wishes to send unanswered calls to our sales staff.  I suggested we use DEE to do this, but do not see where you can send a call directly to the HG.  So, I created a phantom and told it to forward all calls immediately to the sales HG.

I then went into DEE and added another step....step one rings his desk phone and cell phone, step two rings the phantom, and step three is VM.

We tested this and the HG was never rang...did I miss a flag?  Is this supposed to work?

TE is of course correct on the Mitel side, but from a pure networking standpoint, I'd reconfigure.

I've heard of Mitel refusing to help if this isn't done...YMMV.

You'll need to reconfigure your network.  You should use a VLAN to separate your phones from your PCs.  If you want to use the 5000 to hand out DHCP for your phones, OK, but I wouldn't use it for your computers because of its limitations.
