We have a Mitel 5000 with Mitel 5334 and 5340 handsets.
We have recently moved from ISDN trunks to SIP trunks connecting to our Mitel 5000 via an ATA (we currently have no SIP trunk licencing for our 5000).  The ATA box is a Grandstream 818 with 4 of the FXO ports connecting to the Mitel 5000.

If I connect the FXO port of the ATA to a single handset and call in to my SIP trunk, the single handset successfully displays the Caller ID so I know that the ATA is propagating the incoming Caller ID successfully.

When I connect the FXO port of the ATA to a Loop start port on the Mitel 5000, the incoming caller ID is not displayed on the handset and I can only get the CO Trunk Group UserName to display

The CO Trunk Group is set to send the call currently to a Single Extension (Mitel 5340)

As far as I can tell I have all the correct flags however no matter what I change I cannot get the originating Caller ID to display on the handsets.  Is this because the Mitel 5000 does not support incoming Caller ID through the ATA even though connecting direct to a standard analog phone shows that the incoming Caller ID is being passed through successfully ?

Can someone please check the settings attached and let me know what I am missing here ?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Transfer to Collected Extension issue
« on: October 17, 2017, 01:13:12 AM »
I am trying to setup a CRA with a Transfer To Collected Extension option..

The extensions I wish to transfer to are number 2100 - 2199

My digit translation is set to 2 = Transfer to Collected extension.

When I dial the CRA and then attempt to dial an extension I get a "The number entered is not valid" however if I dial the extension # without the CRA it dials the phone with the relevant extension number

i.e.

CRA 2519, Digit Translation 2 = Transfer to Collected Extension
I have a Phone device numbered 2111
My phone is numbered 2110

From my phone if I dial 2111, Phone extension number 2111 rings
From my phone if I dial 2519 I get the Initial Mitel Processing System Message.  During this message if I press 2111, As soon as I press the final 1 I get the message "Thew number entered is not valid".

I am sure I am missing something simple here but I cannot see it.

We have an incoming ISDN trunk with a 100 number direct in dial range. (2222 2200 - 2222 2299)

I am trying to adjust the setting to Propagate the original caller ID based on the incoming dialled number.

The incoming CO Trunk Group is set to
Calling Party Number : 2222 2200
Calling Part Name : Empty
Propagate Original Caller ID : Yes .. NOTE: that this setting is marked with disabled icon.
Day/Night Ring In Type : Call Routing Table 2

After checking and re-checking the help information I do not think any of the above settings are relevant (with the exception of Call Routing Table 2 - see below)

Call Routing Table 2 Pattern 1
Pattern : <2222 2200>
Description : Empty
Ring-In Destination : 2200

Call Routing Table 2 Pattern 2
Pattern : <2222 2250>
Description : Override
Ring-In Destination : 2250

With the above settings I think that when the 2222 2200 is dialled, the original number is displayed.  This is working ok.  When 2222 2250 is dialled, the correct station is called however the original caller id is still displayed.  With the above settings I would have thought that the text "Override" would have been displayed on phone station 2250

Any hints on where I am going wrong here?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Reprogamming handset 'system' buttons.
« on: August 01, 2017, 01:43:13 AM »
From  the manual:

"Each phone has the following buttons that are programmed by the system administrator and cannot be reprogrammed;/... "

Does this mean that as System Administrator I can reprogram these buttons?  If so, where in the Programming application can I find these?

MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Cannot turn off IC auto answer
« on: July 30, 2017, 11:29:07 PM »
I have single handset that is always auto answering and going to handsfree mode when =ever we call the station number.  The extension is a 5340.  I have tried numerous combinations of Handsfree on/off (Feature code : 319), Ring IC Always IC on/off (Feature Code : 377) and Automatic Intercom Access on/off (Feature Code 361), none of which seem to make any difference at all.

I have logged on using the Mitel Programming tool and compared phone settings but cannot see any difference to other phone extensions that do not exhibit this behaviour.

Any pointers on this one would be greatly appreciated.
