MiVoice Office 250/Mitel 5000 / Enterprise Messaging
« on: October 16, 2015, 05:41:44 PM »
Is there a way to downgrade an Enterprise Messaging server?

I'm looking at downgrading from 1.2.50 back down to 1.1.43 due to a compatibility issue.

Thanks.

I need that specific version for a system I'm working on in my shop. I know I can upgrade to the latest service pack/minor version with no different licensing needed but I'm after this specific version for something that I'm working on.

I'm looking for a copy of the Mitel 5000 5.1 software. I do not need the Programming software but rather the software used to upgrade/downgrade a system. I need the very first version with no service packs. According to a document I found online it is 5.1 Release 6. The full version is 5.1.0.20.

The only version I could download from the website is 5.1 SP5. I also checked the ftp to no avail.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

There's a couple of different ways to accomplish this.

One would be to create a hunt group. Put the 1st and 2nd extensions in as members. Do not put them as part of an extension list. Adjust your No Answer Advance timer to 20 seconds or so. Put your Recall timer to 40 seconds or so. Create a Call Routing Announcement and take out any greeting in the Day and in the Night. In the digit translations of said CRA, program it to timeout to the 2nd extension's mailbox. Now, your recall destination in the hunt group you created will be this CRA.

Is there anyway to download the existing .isl license file out of a 5000 system?  I know you can't do it through the GUI but is there a way to do it by accessing the shell?

Thank you.

Maybe you can create a CRA, tagged as "Panic",  that times out to a HG with the desired extensions.  You can change the audio for calls ringing these devices to silent.  Only one caller would be able to answer the call but could then hear what is going on.

This is all in theory of course but might work for your application.

I had an issue with IPRC cards where the networking would freeze up on me.  The problem had to do with re-directs.  Once I disabled them on the IPRC cards the problem went away.  I know this is a different scenario than the one you are dealing with but it might be worth a shot to see if you can disable those on the switch in question.

Create a System Forwarding Path that goes to Hunt Group YYYY.  Assign that Forwarding path to extension xxxx.  You can change the conditions by double clicking on that particular forwarding path under the station.

Start by monitoring SMDR on your system when making the call.  This will show you what digits are or are not making it to your (I'm assuming) E1.  If you still notice that it is cutting off digits, you can try to make the call by accessing the CO Trunk Group directly or by manipulating your dial rules.

Access the CO Trunk Group for the PRI directly and try making your 7 digit local call.  This will bypass all ARS.

If your call is successful then the answer to your original question is yes.  Report back what you find and we can go from there.
