Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Can I activate SNMP on handsets?
« on: August 01, 2019, 08:47:09 PM »
I have a customer with a 3300 that is trying to find some random fault on their network that has asked me to activate SNMP on system and handsets. I have activated the service on the phone system for them, but I don't know how to do it on the handsets (is it even possible?). They have UC360, 6920, 6930, 6930 handsets. They have multiple sites via MPLS all connecting to a MXeIII at 1 single site. Obvious stuff like VLANS etc are at play, but not my problem... yet!

Hey, thanks TE!! The NAT setting is the one I did not know about, but I do now. She's all good and working. Thanks heaps!

Hi all, can somebody point me in the right direction. My regular 250 guy is on leave in another country so the job has fallen to me.  I programmed the extn (5330 handset) and have set port forwarding rules also. The handset logs in and looks perfectly fine. It has dial tone when I go off hook, but when I make or receive a call, I get no audio. I believe I have all of my system programming ok, but the firewall is out of my hands. I have been assured the forwarding has been done correctly, but I have no way of knowing if my system programming is correct. I copied programming from another site of ours with a teleworker handset and sophos out front too. I was wondering if it was a setting on my system I am missing like telling the system to send out public IP. I am happy to read through the forums, just mainly need the right place to start. I also added the external IP in the system in 2 places - not sure if this is correct or not.

I have forwarded these to the Controller
•   UDP ports 69, 5567, 6004-6261, 20001, 50098-50508
•   TCP ports 3998-3999, 5566, 5570, 6800-6802

I have a Band Aid solution at the moment. It involves me changing the programming manually at the designated times at the moment. I am booked to do my course in February

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Direct Paging Group Handset Limit
« on: October 30, 2018, 02:31:41 AM »
Is the maximum number of IP handsets that can receive simultaneous page only 32? I have an MXe-iii controller

Yes,  I am using AMS for this system. I noticed that SW Grp 1 has changed from what I saw earlier. Still can't quite work out the correlation between the position, group and day night. What it seems, is there a 3 switch positions for each CDE, but I am unsure how that changes to switch group. I may have to admit defeat on this system! I haven't done a leader-led course, so Support doesn't want to know about it - even though we have quite a few of these systems installed and the qualified tech has left the company

Ok, I'm guessing that R3.0 doesn't do that. I've found a lot of things that it doesn't have! Can anyone add a link on how to upgrade system. The licences are up to date.

Is there a way to tell online what Switch Position the system is currently in?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / RAD Greeting is well over 2min long!
« on: October 25, 2018, 02:10:48 AM »
How do i make the RAD play in it's entirety before going off to it's Interflow destination. When the message is played back after recording it, the message plays in full.  When it is dialled in to, the timer cuts out around the 42seconds mark and transfers the call.  I have the Interflow timer set at 3min (now, was at 2:43). I assume that it is on the correct directory path - same path as the Privacy message.

I can follow that bit easy enough, but what is the bit that decides where the phones ring? Is it just a switch position? I am going to run 24x7 AA except for Saturday morning, when I need the phones to just ring as they are at the moment. I can provide screenshots if you tell me what to get. I currently have the AA assigned on one trunk only for testing, but it is the same in Switch Position 1, 2, 3. I was assuming that the time control feature needs to change the switch position. Then there seems to be a permission set, which I may have worked out

Hi all,

I have programmed AA on a system that currently does not have day/night during hours after hours functions.  I have had a long hard look at it and I am assuming that I am missing a piece of programming as I was unsuccessful in making the system change between modes. Can you please provide complete programming steps to change between day and night programming?

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: MiVB 9.0
« on: October 03, 2018, 02:11:50 AM »
From the MiVB 9.0 update training document:

The following hardware components are obsolete and do not work on MiVoice Business release 9.0:

Obsolete controllers
• MXe
• MXe II
• CX
• CXi
• LX

Obsolete sets
• 5001 IP phone
• 5005 IP phone
• 5010 IP phone
• 5020 IP phone
• 5140 IP phone
• 5201 IP phone
• 5205 IP phone
• 5207 IP phone
• 5215 IP phone Dual Mode
• 5215 IP phone
• 5220 IP phone Dual Mode
• 5220 IP phone
• 5230 IP phone
• 5240 IP phone
• 5401 IP
• 5550 IP Console
• 6600 Your Assistant Pro
• App Server
• SS4001
• SS401
• SuperConsole 1000
• SS4015
• SS4025
• SS410
• SS4125
• SS4250
• SS420
• SS430

Mitel issued a revised support statement for the 5200 series sets under bulletin PB20170185. This bulletin clarified that, whilst we expect the phones will operate as normal, the 5200 sets will not have the normal support level. Specifically, this means that, should issues arise after the upgrade to release 9.0, Mitel reserves the right to not fix specific issues isolated to the 5200 series sets operation. In effect, this is a very similar position as Mitel undertook on the Peripheral Node as we transitioned away from the older technology to the newer product variants.

... so does this mean we can no longer install and use the 5485 Paging Unit? It needs to boot up as a 5010 handset?
