Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / IVR Port not passing CLI
« on: October 26, 2023, 04:38:59 AM »
Hi.

We have a customer who's calls come into MiVB, answered by an IVR port in MiCC and then it is transferred to a 3rd party voice IVR system called Parlance which then routes to the correct dept.

When the call is presented to the end user after being routed, it's showing the IVR Port name, rather than the originating CLI.

Any thoughts?

hi ,
basically , you can't great a ring group or multicall on antoher extension.

maybe it's better to use Call forward 1st alt to the second extension , our install a second console.

That was my belief also, but the customer seemed to think they have had this set up before - made me question it.

Thanks - I'll go back to them.

Hi there,

Customer has asked for a the following...

Main number comes into an attendant console softkey (3001). They also want that softkey to alert another IP phone.

Ususally would just setup a multicall key for this, but it won't let me add a multicall key to the IP phone in question as it comes up and tells me that 3001 is already in use.

Any ideas?

Mitel Software Applications / Re: Restore of MiCollab

So the installed_blade file referenced three different version numbers. Managed to restore to the right one and all sorted!

Mitel Software Applications / Restore of MiCollab
« on: February 12, 2023, 04:00:42 AM »
Hi All,

I'm currently working on trying to get a MiCollab back up and running that we have very little info on. I've trawled through the backups and found what I think should be the correct version to deploy, from the installed_blades file - however it fails the restore.

User data goes in fine, so does the MBG data, however when I look at the MiCollab Client Service section - it shows something along the lines of 'Failed to restore backup data - Error code 168'

Any ideas?

TIA

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Re: NTP Settings on 3300 9.0

Hi Sully,

Are all the MiVB's physical controllers? On virtual ones, the NTP setting's are within MSL. Log into Server Manager and you'll see the Date & Time settings on the left hand side.

Ok, so I'm having an issue with the location based dialling.

Set a LBN of XXXX with no default prefix.

Phone in network zone 2, LBN Prefix of 102. By my thinking if they dial XXXX the system should see it's an LBN, look up it's network zone, prefix it with 102 and dial the RG I have setup with the DN of 102XXXX

However the phone dialling is coming up with Invalid and CCS trace isn't showing anything.

Am I missing something?

Only going on my experience and it's not Mitel based, but still might be relevant.

Not too long back I was tasked with installing an Audiocodes Mediant for a customer who had a Cisco call manager system. Essentially it converts SIP > PRI.

I was getting static/poor audio and it turned out to be the codec on the Audiocodes not being happy. Nailed it down and it worked a treat.

If I remember rightly, the trunks will always be tagged X9999. I think you'll struggle as you can't change the tag on the IP Trunks as far as I know, whereas a SIP trunk for example, are processed SMDR wise in a similar way to endpoint, where you can define an SMDR tag and report on them that way.

I almost responded yesterday asking if LG 1 was definitely having the calls routed to it, but didn't want to suggest something you might have already ruled out.

Glad you got it sorted  :)

Thanks lundah - can you confirm if doing this by IP, also works for softphones?

Thanks.

Had a bit of a dig and the Location Based Dialling looks to be the one. Setup network zones for each site, ensure that you put a dial prefix. Set XXXX as a location based number and it'll prefix the XXXX with that locations number.

Setup a RG for the full string PF+XXXX and it should just dial the security for that site

Thats pretty much the gist of it, yes  :D

Mitel MiVoice Business/MCD/3300 / Multiple sites need an emergency number
« on: November 15, 2021, 09:53:17 AM »
Hi All.

Throwing it out there on the best way to achieve this. I'm thinking along the lines of interconnect restrictions - possibly even having to go tenanting (but wishing to avoid if possible).

Customer has a virtual Mitel setup. Latest versions of software. 2 controllers for load balancing, and resilient controllers for these. They have multiple sites connecting back to these controllers, and each of these sites has it's own security extensions.

What the customer is looking for, is user on site A dials XXXX for security and rings only the security ring group, for that site. Same for site B, C, D etc.

The 'security number' XXXX needs to be the same across all sites, however.

Thoughts?

Apologies for the late update but I've been sidtracked on other projects!

Got this working by reading the manual properly and not bloody skim reading it!  ;D

Bare in mind this is a tenanted system, so i can't have everything going to the Embedded AA, so...

DDI > NTHG (#1000) CReRA to Voicemail HG.

Menu node mailbox setup as 1100 (as it ignores the #) - and you must set the extension as the same as the mbx number! Important!

Dial into the NTHG and when the prompt plays, dial the extension you want.

EDIT - set the embedded system to allow dialling of any extension, with your exclusions for security.

Thanks again.
