Title: DID Forwarding question
Post by: Elwood36 on June 26, 2017, 05:02:23 PM
Hello,

I just had a quick question about forwarding a DID (416 xxx xxxx) that translates to a 4 digit number within our 3300 to a specific queue. Is the proper way to do this by a simple speed dial or is there other programming involved?

Thanks as I didn't see a specific answer in the search.

That would work... although doing it in the DID Translation form is the right way unless your system is pretty old. System Speed Call should not be used for DID translation anymore or it won't work properly with Users & Devices form integration.

Ok thanks, I don't actually see the DID Translation form? We are running 7.2SP1.

Call Routing - Call Handling - Direct Inward Dialing Service

It only works if you have Direct Inward Dialing Service enabled in your Trunk Attributes for that trunk. Using it integrates several elements of the Service Details tab of User and Services Configuration, including DID Service Number and Use DID Number for Outgoing Calls (it automatically updates the Associated Number form).

Remember it's all or nothing... once you change your trunk attributes to DID Service, the System Speed Call form is not used.
