Title: phone whisperer issue 8.0 MCD
Post by: Crowtalks on June 08, 2017, 12:12:16 PM
I have a weird request from a director of an office which has an employee that has partially lost her voice and basically "whispers". They are using 5330s and I find nothing in the system where I can tweak the transmit gain on a per phone basis.

They are wanting to know if there is some device that can be attached to the phone to increase her volume without blasting out her eardrums.

Thanks, Jim

Look in help for Direct Paging and OHVA or Off-hook Voice Announce

This is why we will always have jobs. Boss has employee with voice loss - still puts employee on the phone - our job to fix

Ignore my answer above with suggested reading... I must have been reading two different things at once, had a few too many when I read the question, or not enough coffee, I am sure one of those situations applied because somehow I thought you wanted to do "whisper announce" which is basically Off-hook Voice Announce (you can make a "page" to a phone that is on a call).

Ignore what I said before... :/

And the answer is no, you can't do it in the phone... BUT you can adjust transmit and receive levels with some headsets, like many Plantronics units but it often distorts the audio or causes echo if you tweak it too much, so it's a 50/50 shot if it will work in your case.
