Can anybody recommend a wireless headset brand and model for Mitel (Intertel) 8662 desk phones? I am reluctant to just purchase just any headset just to find out there is a compatibility issue with the Mitel phones. So far I found Plantronics C55, any thoughts?

Try using the following website, if you pop the make/model in it will give you a list of compatible headsets you can use.

Yeah looked into that already, was hoping to get an older cheaper model...I don't need the newest.

FirstSource,
I am not sure what exactly you are looking for as most of the vendors are only going to look at the latest models, but the CS-55 that you found will work with the 8662 phone and it was replaced by the CS-540 in 2011; which you would find on the Plantronics Compatibility Guide.
I think that all of the Plantronics CS series headsets worked with the old Inter-Tel phones; which is what the 86xx series phones were. It may require that you go through the settings on the headset to get audio both ways, but that is easy to figure out once it is installed.
Thanks,
TE

We've got at least a hundred CS-55 and CS-540 headsets in use with 8520/8560 phones, which are basically the same as the 8662. Plug and play.
Spend the extra coin on the CS-540. They're much more comfortable and weigh about half as much as a CS-55. Any CS-55 you find is living on borrowed time anyway.

Thank you for the information. I will look into the CS-540
