Title: Auto Attendant Setup
Post by: Saltrock23 on January 27, 2017, 10:18:52 AM
Hi

I have a compnay which i am configuring.  The setup im using is as below

Main Number **8508 comes in
2 digits absorbed
8508 is number of auto attendant and takes call
caller given 3 options 8505,8510,8520
Caller selects and gets put through

My questions is i have noticed that i needed to have the number 8508 actually programmed into a phone at a line button or no calls came through is this correct.

Can i have this ext 8508 solely as a Auto attend number and let it be dealt with by that or dies it need to be populated elsewhere.

Or is there a better way to configure.  My concern is that if someone resets that user or phone then the line will be gone and no calls will be processed?

Hi Saltrock23,

Is the key forwarded to VM? If so you could try using a Hunt Group?

Hi

If i program a hunt group as 8508 do i just set the call rerouting to always voicemail?

I take it i leave the hunt group with no members?  But does this mean i will need to remove the single line button first to create the hunt group?

Yes, You'll have to delete the button before you can make it a hunt group.
It cant' exist in the system when you're create something new with it.

Also instead of call rerouting the hunt group to voicemail, you could just make the members of the 8508 Hunt Group a few of your voicemail ports and have the Hunt Group Type as "VoiceMail"
