I am programming a 3300 7.2 that has a NuPoint, so all IPs are Multi-devices. I have hooked up a couple of 5340e phones for testing calling and they both show LOCKED. I have checked the COS, I have verified they both are actually built as 5340e devices and I have the interconnect and tenant populated. They can't even call each other, much less place a call externally (except for 911, that call completes)
I have looked in maintenance using LOCATE Feature extension [number], it shows:
IP Device ID: 1
Circuit Location : 1 3 1 1 1
Extension : 3221
Active Features :
Phone Lock: UnLocked
Service Level: Multi-device
MAC Address : 08:00:0F:88:85:90
Zone ID: 1
Any ideas?

Did you create the multi device group?

If I have to create a Multi-device group on the 3300...then the answer is no. The last time I installed one, I was configuring the sets as FULL.
Does this happen in Group Programming?
Thanks, Jim

I looked up Multi Device User groups in Edocs...thanks for the tip, johnp

I admit that I have never had to program an IP phone as a multi-device just to get it to work. I went to multi device group and when I try to program a pilot number that is not a DN, it says: A Pilot Number must be assigned to a mulitline IP set.
When I try to use an existing IP set DN, it says: All Multi-device user licenses allocated to this node have been used.
I have 188 Multi-device user licenses and I have used about 60 so far.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Jim

I figured it out, I forgot to allocate the licenses...

Is this standalone or with MiCollab? MiCollab, if configured properly, should be running the show, you build and manage users there, and a few quick templates and you can build all these users in minutes.
I'm just guessing you have MiCollab because you likely have UCC licenses, sounds like something is missing here.

I have locked phones out before because I had 5320 set for the type in the 3300 but the phone itself was a 5320e, or even a 5340.

First one is a real learning experience... gets easier the second and third go around.
