Dear all,
I am experiencing a strange behavior with my hotel room phones, despite the configuration that seems to be correct, the wake up call speed dial button is not working.
The chosen button for that speed dial is the memory key number 6 for Teledex NDC-2105S-N model. Can you help to sort out this trouble..
The Hotel/Motel Room Wake up Call From Guest Extension line is configured with *19. If I dial it straight on the dial pad of the phone it works properly; but with the speed dial button it doesn't work.
The Hotel/Motel Room Personal Wake up Call – Set line is configured with **1, if I use this too straight on the phone dial pad it works properly but when use as speed dial doesn't work (setting the wake up time fails).
can someone help?
-
If it works when you dial it manually then you may have to contact Teledex tech support for that one.

I would suggest contacting the vendor who installed these, it sounds like the Quick Keys are programmed incorrectly. These are VoIP SIP terminals, not analog phones, so some special rules apply. The user guide is here: http://www.teledex.com/uploads/4/7/0/7/47077835/iseries_voip_userguide.pdf
On a side note, we usually have quick keys or other pre-programmed keys programmed with fixed speedcall numbers, like 77901-77906 or something similiar, then set everything in the System Speed Call table rather than having feature codes or extensions programmed directly on the set... makes it easy to make changes later when the customer changes something.

That's a good idea. Not having worked hardly at all with hotels, that's something I don't think I would have thought of.

Let's just say my first few hotel's "back in the day" were not done this way... have a couple times where you have to go around and reprogram a speed call button on a few hundred phones and you find a better solution pretty quickly. :)

Hi saliou-ab, could you please post here the phone config? Go to "Config Manage" and under "Backup Configuration" right click on "Right Click here to Save as Config File (.txt)" and save the content to a file.

Sure Petr.
You can find it attached to this post.

I don't see any **1 configured, although *19 is properly configured... Dialing *19 from the set works properly yet pressing the speed dial key does not, what happens when you press the speed call key and attempt to continue, do you get an error tone or something?

I believe it has something to do with the diaplan that seems to be missing in the configuration file. Try to add a rule that matches the codes programmed under the speed dial keys.
We are using folloging config:

Yes you are right acejavelin,
In this Configuration file there is no **1 because I use one code at a time, *19 or **1, this time it is *19 but both of them give the same result.
When dialed on the set for example *1912308110 or **112308110 it works properly and rings at 12:30 AM both of them.
But when used as speed dial it is failing to set. For example: Let's say speed dial=sd if I press on the speed dial button and set the time like this: sd12308110 it is dropping the Configuration I can't here the usual ring as when I've set it on the phone dial pad and it is not ringing when the intended time 12:30 AM.
And if I listen to the controller's port 1754 see below what it displays:
2016-NOV-21 12:30:15 HOTEL A/Active -Info- PRIMARY #0030
WAKE-UP:1 8110 11:23 #Set Failed at Extension 8110

Thanks Petr for your assistance, but I did not get you clear (I did not understand the dial plan you are talking about.), Can you please be more specific and walk me through the set up you've done on your side to avoid this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Sure, in the config file it is in the <TELE CONFIG MODULE> section (at the end - see below), in the web interface navigate to Advanced --> Digital Map.

Dear Petr,
I tried this suggestion but unfortunately it doesn't work.
I defined the rules as attached, but still if I use my speed dial key it is displaying to me an error message "set failed".
I don't know if my Dial map is correct.

hi saliou-ab,
why are you putting N into the dial plan? The admin guide does not seem to say anything about N character.
For wake up call do you normally dial *19 and then after the call is connected dial more digits or you have to dial the full number at once?

Hi Petr,
I was trying that dial plan (NNNNNNNN) after the fail of the one with XXXXXXXX. I forgot it in the file In sent you.
For the wake up call I normally dial the full number at once. Not in two times, when i dial *19 and wait the line do not connects it drops, but if I dial *19xxxxxxxx (on the set) at once it connects.
Thanks a lot for assisting.

Hi saliou-ab, could you run SIP TCPDUMP ON/OFF to sniff the SIP communication and see if you get final response OK to the INVITE request? If so, then problem will not be with the dial plan, but further in the PBX setup. Unfortunately I have not experience with wake up call, so maybe somebody else will step in and provide some suggestions?
-
OK Petr,
I've done the SIP TCPDUMP, here is attached the files I got from the controller.

It does not seem to be a problem of the phone setup any more, but the ICP, unfortunatelly I have never configured the Wake Up feature :-(
