Title: Trouble conferencing with Long Distance numbers
Post by: tshowalter on November 14, 2016, 11:53:31 AM
I have a Polycom Sound Station 6000 I can place long distance calls with it but if I have a call going and I try to conference in another call that is long distance I dial the 9 to get the outside line then a 1 for the long distance then I can dial 9 numbers but when I dial the 10th number it errors out.  I have tried this with the Mitel desk phones I have on site and they can do the conference no problem.

Does it work for local and internal numbers?

Then I'd suspect that it has something to do with the carrier.
Turn on "replace CLID" in the PRI circ descriptor and retest.

You could also test with the polycom by making both calls from it.  That assumes that one leg of the call in incoming.
I'd bet that would work.

You can also test using any other phone.  I'd bet it's system wide.  (Incoming call, then place LD call)

It can probably be unrelated to your issue. We have experienced strange behaviour with Polycom Sound Stations recently (calls were dropped after a minute or so), the solution was to switch the SIP transport from TCP to UDP.  Try to snif the SIP signaling to see what's going on.

Ralph I tried the "Replace the CLID" suggestion but that didn't fix the issue.

You may have to do a wireshark capture starting with the Polycom and then the SIP trunks.
See what's happening at that level.
