Title: Dialing out of VM
Post by: Mattmayn on June 25, 2010, 04:19:12 PM
What is the easiest way to setup outbound dialing from embedded VM? I have a customer with a remote location that is connected via a point to point wireless connection that wants a failover plan. They have ordered several B1 lines and would like to be able to dial from the new location across these trunks to the main location and then dial out again from there (so they can record calls and all of that good stuff). I would like for the to hit a DID and be able to dial out again after entering an account code. Any ideas/suggestions?

3300 MCD 4.0 SP3.

This will be tricky.   And I hate to say it, but you'll have to use DISA with a security code.
The outbound route will have to dial the DISA, pause, dial and account code, then ARS code + number.
Could work.  Don't think I'd trust it.  It will add a big delay to the outbound call set up.  (as in dial number... wait.... wait.... wait... ring)
And you MAY hear some of the DTMF signaling tones.

Could be fun to play with.

I wonder if you could use call recognition service feature?

Its for the Mobile Extension feature but I wonder if you could hack a work around?

Interesting....
How would that work?

maybe easyer to set them up as 'trusted' EHDU's so they dial in and get dial tone and hey presto back out again. This is assuming they are on MCD 4.1 though.

There's something I've never thought of!
Haven't played with the EHDU at all.  I'll have to take a look at it.
Have you tried it for outbound dialing application?
