Did you look for a way to not send them out as root, or on the shell side look for exim.conf, in linux it is located at /etc/exim.conf. Comment out the never_users=root
I don't have that voice system to test on.
Hope that helps

Suavie,
Is root@K****** the user account setup for Voice Mail to send e-mail messages?
Are you setup for Enhanced or Forward & Copy?
Thanks,
TE
-
No, I'm not even sure where root@ came from.
They're setup as Forward and Copy
-
Suavie,
Alright, let's start at the beginning and end at the end as they say.
Are you using the built-in Voice Processor or the NuPoint Voice Mail system?
If you are using the built-in Voice Processor or the BUVM system then look in the following location.
Go to System > E-Mail Gateway > E-Mail Address: Is this set for Root@?
This is where all the E-Mail Synchronization programming happens for the Voice Processor when using Forward and Copy; I know it is an odd place, but it makes sense if you understand how they did it.
Anyway, verify that all the information here is correct to your knowledge.
Next go to System > IP Settings
Look at the following Fields: Base Server Name, Domain Name, DNS Search List. Make sure these are all correct to your knowledge. Also if any of them say root then let us know.
Thanks,
TE

They're using the built in Voice Processor.
For the email address under E-mail Gateway, it is not root@K*******. It's voicemail@K*******.
As for the IP settings:
Base Server is X out
Domain name is blank
DNS search is inter-tel.com
I am not the one who set this system up, so as far as I know, that's correct.
-
Suavie,
Are you telling me that he Base Server Hostname has a Red X to the right of it? If that is the case then we have found your issue, but I have never seen that happen before.
Look at that again and verify that it is X out.
Thanks,
TE
-
Yes, it is definitely X out. The status of it is disconnected.
-
Suavie,
Can you take a screenshot of that and post it so I can see. You can blank out any IP information.
Thanks,
TE

Screen Shots are attached:
-
Suavie,
Ah, Well the good news is that you were looking at the wrong area I think. I was asking for was Base Server Hostname which is Kleckners.
So, we are still trying to figure out where your root@Kleckners.com is coming from.
Is this one particular mailbox that this is happening on or does it happen on all of them? Go to the mailbox that it is happening on and look at E-Mail Synchronization and see if there is anything there.
Thanks,
TE

I believe I found what caused it to be root@ When this was setup they left the Administrator E-mail Address and E-mail Address empty. I believe from that it defaulted to root@
I also found out they switched to Office 365. I believe I finally got it up and running. Thanks for your help!

Suavie,
That was the next screen shot I was going to ask for, and yes those definitely need to be filled out and they should be the same email address or there could be issues depending on your software version.
Thanks,
TE
