I have a customer who is repeatedly having two different extensions that call a third extension. When that user picks up, there is nobody there. This happens at all hours of the day and night; if she does not pick up, the phone takes a message of dead air for just a second or two. Any thoughts on what might be causing this? Should I call a priest for an exorcism??
Thanks!

Do you happen to have a PRI that is brought into your prem via a router?
Also, have you checked your SMDR records to verify the source?

There is a PRI coming in -it is supplied via SIP, then converted to PRI with an adtran box. Do you think that the ghost calls are actually from outside? When the user gets a voicemail from the ghost calls, they appear to have come from the other extensions, but possibly they are coming from outside instead? I have not looked at the SMDR yet, since I thought that the calls were coming from inside.
Thanks!

Read through this posting to see what I had to deal with a few years ago.

We had something similar, it was driving them crazy - pretty sure it was the "Call me back" feature causing it. Haven't had it since we disabled Call me Back.

Good point.
If the user hear a triple ring that means it's a call back.
