Title: Sending callers to NuPoint to leave a message
Post by: VinceWhirlwind on April 21, 2016, 09:34:04 PM
I have the following setup:

People ring Reception on 1111
1111 is Call Forward Always to NuPoint
NuPoint Mailbox 1111 has a Call Director setup on it.
In Business Hours, NuPoint Mailbox 1111 does a blind transfer to 2222
2222 is a Ring Group with extensions 4001, 4002, 4003
If 2222 is not answered, it goes back to NuPoint to leave a message.

My question is this - which Vmailbox does NuPoint try to record the message for?
If I want it to go into NuPoint 1111 Vmailbox, where do I configure that?

Thanks.

I'm assuming it goes to 2222 voicemail otherwise wouldn't you get the Call Director again?

Well, that sounds dangerously logical - I'm pretty sure you are right.

So I think my issue is that creating a mailbox for the Ring Group isn't enough - I also need to create a MiCollab account for it so that the VM can be delivered by email.

Only problem is 2222 already exists as a Ring Group, so the only way to add it to MiCollab is to break Single Point Provisioning and then add it in. And that will consume another licence.

At least, doing it this way allows me to create 1111 as an actual device, hard-log it in on a phone, so that MiCollab users get a green status icon and the ability to dial 1111 via MiCollab.

...because there's no way to make Ring Groups Green and dialable from MiCollab otherwise...?

Think you could create another ring group with the same extensions and add it as an alternate extension in 1111.

Yes, I tried the alternate extension.
Now I need to test it.
