I could use some help with getting the set-up finished. I think I am pretty close but I keep getting authentication error on the screen of the 5610... Im guessing I have something missing in the Mitel 5000.
I'm trying prepare something for a customer but I have to get mine set up first to test. I need to upgrade the customer firmware as he has an old firmware base unit like 1.04 and the handsets are like 2.0 something.
I have never set this up before and want to make sure I know what I am doing before I help them.
Can anyone help get me further ?
Thanks so much

Mkimmer01,
What information do you exactly need?
Thanks,

Hi,
i have just set one of these up with no hassle,
Make sure you have a SIP license for the DECT phone and you need to make sure the SIP username and password has been set up correctly both on the Base station and the 5000.

@mkimmer01
Do you have the documentation package from Mitel's website? It literally walks you though the process, nearly step by step...

There are a few steps in the Mitel document that will lead you astray. Well, The document that I used was missing information.

Spoke to soon!
Scenario
Two sites with a VPN to link both networks.
Site 1 has phone system
Site 2 has phones and Pc's connected via the VPN.
Can get the 5610's to register and connect no issues on site 1.
Site 2 however will not register - getting SIP error.
I can ping the phone system from Site 2 without any issues.
Any ideas??

Ahh... this adds a whole new dynamic to the mix. So Site 2 is a unique subnet? Is the phone attempting to register through the VPN or going to the outside public IP address? Many routers have "SIP" functionality and routing built in, in most cases all SIP-aware functions must be disabled in the routers.

Thanks for the reply,
Yes Site 2 is a unique subnet.
It looks like the phone is attempting to register but failing, i will need to check with the router set up, (I didn't have access at the time)
Thanks
