Title: SIP Trunk Caller ID Name
Post by: Gasmanz on March 15, 2016, 07:11:28 PM
I have noticed that the caller ID name being sent in the "From" line of the SIP header over SIP trunks is only using the first character of the callers first name i.e. John Smith is being sent as J.Smith.

Is there any way to force it to send the users full name?

You would probably have to program the entire name in the Last Name field of the user.
This is by design across a network. {First initial}.{Last Name}

You could also set the department value and use it. This is limited to 10 characters., not sure if user name is limited. Also if you can get away with using a default value, it will use what is in the sip peer if you don't have a value in the user cpn or did substitution form.
