Title: Display monitor of who is on the phone
Post by: DrFurd on April 23, 2010, 01:31:31 PM
Here is what our company wants to do.
They want a monitor (PC screen) in our customer service area which will show a select list of sales and operations people (about 15 people) and if they are on the phone. This will be so the customer service group (which is on ACD) can tell with a glance if the person they need to talk to (non-ACD) is already on a call. The screen does not need to do anything else, such as initiate a call or interact with the agent, it can just be a 42" up on the wall.
Is there such a product or a method to show multiple extension status on a PC screen?

I believe that Prairie Fyre is designed to do exactly what you are asking.
www.prairiefyre.com/ (http://www.prairiefyre.com/)
We done this for a doctors office before with a big flatscreen TV.

Thanks for the reply Ralph. I'm using that but when I put up an extension that is not an agent I only get the "???Unknown" state icon. The agents show up and change state just fine. Any tip on how to set it up for a non ACD extension?

I believe there is a call accounting addon to Prariefyre that will allow it to monitor non-ACD phones....

I am not sure if PrairieFyre can do this. However being none ACD being none ACD agents, then you may want to look at UCA with the console option.

This will tell you who is available and who is not.

I think I had tried this before. I am also using PF. I just went in and under real time I clicked on  Position > Extension State by Position. I checked off a few ext and I was able to see when I was calling the ext. I am not 100% sure we do not have the call accounting add in for PF. I am trying to confirm. I see a bunch of unknowns, but when I call that ext it shows that it is NON ACD and has my name next to it.
