Title: Registering a 5540 Attendant console remotely
Post by: mszodiac on December 11, 2015, 10:09:33 AM
Hi everyone.  I have multiple 5330e IP phones registered to remote ICPs.  The registration process is simple enough.

But now, I'd like to register an attendant console to a remote ICP.  This really is just for testing.  I know with my installs, I just need to enter the MAC address of the console on the ICP, and ensure it's got an IP reserved on the DHCP server.

On the 5540 manual, I don't see combination keys to press (like up/down arrow) to get into the phone settings, and enter an ICP address.

Is there a way to register a 5540 console remotely? Thanks!

The 5540 works like any other phone, and can be a Teleworker (I assume, I haven't actually tried it remotely, but the MBG supports it so it should work and it has the Teleworker menu)

Just press and hold 7 while plugging in the power/PoE connection, should come up with the Teleworker menu, I know I have done this on the bench when building SX-200's, same console.

Also, pressing and holding either Vol key when powering up should get to the main setup menu.

And yes, you would still need to put the MAC in the appropriate controller.

Thanks acejavelin! I should receive my test console early next week.  I'll give this a try, and will let you know the outcome.

Got the attendant console registered remotely! Works beautifully :).  Thanks acejavelin.
