Title: Trying to restore to factory settings, please help!

Hi, my company recently purchased an HX 5000 cp controller. It has info from the previous owner like, name of the company on the lcd of unit and its database. I am unfamiliar with this unit and could use some help.  I have searched through manuals without much luck.

Start by contacting a certified dealer and having the license transferred to your company, then arrange for Mitel training.

There is nothing intuitive about programming this system.

This is for resale purposes and I need to try and clear the information that was stored on the unit previously.

Gorz12,

I am not sure what it is that you are trying to accomplish here. Are you saying that you purchased a Mitel 5000 system and then plan on reselling said system to someone else? Is the company you work for a parts reseller?

Umm... you can default the database directly through the front panel menu...

Press center button, arrow down to System Menu, press center button, arrow down to Default Database, press center button and follow prompts.

Remember this will only clear the database, NOT the licensing... the licensing is tied to the compact flash card and cannot be changed except by a certified technician with access to Mitel AMC.

This will gain you a dumb system... that's it.
