Title: Name on Voicemail box wrong when played back
Post by: telcogirl on August 06, 2015, 02:48:22 PM
We are experiencing a weird issue.  Personal Voicemail boxes are configured for ext. 221 and 222.  The name, passcode, and greeting have been set up correctly on both boxes.  Ext 221 calls 222 and leaves a message.  When 222 listens to the message the system states that a message has been left by the name on ext 222 not the name on ext 221.  This is not happening on any other extensions.  The system is a 5000 with current software and 8528 phones.  Originally Unified Messaging was disabled on the system, then enabled when the customer wanted to use the voicemail.  We are stumped.  Any help will be truly appreciated.

Are you sure the name is recorded correctly?  The name is different from the greeting and recorded seperately: log into mailbox, press 4 for options, 2 to record name.
I assume this is a single site, right...not networked voicemail systems?

DwayneG,

Thanks for replying.  Yes the name is correct.  It has been recorded and re-recorded multiple times.  When voicemail answers the system identifies the correct name for ext. That is why this is so weird.  Yes this is a standalone site.

telcogirl,

Delete the mailboxes and recreate them.

Thanks,
