Title: BLF's not propagating across network
Post by: acejavelin on July 27, 2015, 05:11:42 PM
I have a customer with two 5000's networked, everything seemed to be working fine for the last few weeks... but today a user at the remote site added a few DSS keys for phones at the main site, and they work fine if you press the key it calls the phone, but the status shows them always busy (LED for key is always lit). Is there something that needs to be done in programming or something I could have missed?

acejavelin,

Most likely they are not updating their status due to syncing issues. They most likely will be working this morning if the systems did a reset last night.

Thanks,

TE

I scheduled a reboot on both controllers last night but haven't heard back from customer yet... Do I have to do a sync after adding DSS keys?

Ace, you shouldn't have to import/export. The keys normally work right away, but sometimes there is a delay. Rarely, I've had to power the phone down to get the lights working when the phone rebooted.

I would not think an import was needed since the system knew of the off-node extension (allowed the extension to be programmed as a DSS/BLF key). Weird one...

This started working... The minute we put a DSS key on a phone at the main location for a phone at the remote site, all the DSS keys at the remote site for phones at the main location started working. Odd... Removed the DSS key from phone at the main site and everything still worked.
