Title: Raised Major Alarm on SATA I2C Cable - Mitel 3300
Post by: ralph on April 07, 2015, 08:23:00 AM
Anyone seen this alarm before?
"Raised Major Alarm on SATA I2C cable"

It cleared after 3 seconds.   Seems unusual.
The only thing I can think of is the system tried to write to a hard drive but couldn't.

We had the same alarm on one PBX.  We changed the RAID card  and the sata cable but the problem was still there.  Mitel told us it was a software issue and to upgrade the system.  We are still waiting to do the upgrade, so the alarm is still there from time to time, but it doesn't cause any problem.

MN00431291 - I2C Sata Alarm since install
REPORTED IN SW LOAD - 10.2.2.15
SYMPTOMS
Site is getting  SATA I2C cable alarm even after replacing I2C cable and RAID card

WORKAROUND = This problem was patched in 10.2.2.29 software.

Yes.  I saw that on the fix list of the KPI after the original posting.

Thanks for your input.   It looks like I'll have to recommend an upgrade.
