Title: VM to Email
Post by: pakman on March 31, 2015, 08:53:02 AM
Hello,

I have several voicemails boxes setup to forward vm to email. This worked fine until we upgraded our exchange to 2010 I am wondering if there's anything on the PBX side that I might need to do? I don't recall ever entering the exchange info into a form. Were using the embedded vm on one of our PBX's. The email addresses haven't changed so my guess is it's something to do with the new exchange server.

Thanks,

My guess would be that your new Exchange server needs to be set to allow unauthenticated SMTP from the phone systems IP address.

Yep, you will need to update the SMTP relay address on the MCD, and make sure that the IP address of the MCD is allowed to relay through the exchange server.

I had issues after changing to a hosted exchange for a customer. I had to build a email relay server for the authentication. The MCD does not have a place to add authentication, so either your exchange server has to allow unauthenticated email or  you have a relay server in between.

Want to make sure I'm not missing something as my server admin says it's completely wide open with no authentication and it's still not working. Is there no form on the PBX that I need to enter in the IP address of the exchange server? I have not found one yet.

Thanks,

Are you getting any logs when it fails?

as per Johnp...1.System Options form.
