I had an 5312 phone stop working...so I transferred the persons extension to a old one not in use. I can call out with he correct outside line...I can use the IC with the correct extension and people can IC the phone...but someone calling the outside number associated with that extension gets their voicemail...its kind of like the outside number is associated with the blown up phone..can anyone help

If you have personal outside numbers it sounds like you're using a CALL ROUTING TABLE. Inspect that and make sure the outside number points to the correct phone. If it does, switch it to point to a different phone and test. If that works, switch it back and try again. Sometimes bits get lost in the shuffle in a swap and this should restore the relationship.
