Title: Boot process
Post by: Fergus on February 11, 2015, 02:48:24 PM
Is there a way on the 5000 HX to watch the boot up process other than what is shown on the display?

We recently too our demo system to a customer for a demonstration and now it won't boot up all the way. You see all the processes starting, then they show stopping. Eventually the whole process starts over again. Tried reseating the main card and the flash card but it didn't help.  I would like to see if we can determine exactly where the boot process fails.

thanks

Connect to the USB-B connector on the front of the HX/IT5K. I connect via PuTTy (Serial to COM port), 115200.

Fergus,

Don't forget to run the USB to Serial utility that is within the installation directory for your 5000 software so you can use the USB A to USB B connection to see what is going on.

Good Luck,

TE

Thank you both for the information. I'll give it try!

Just as an update, it was the flash card that was bad.

Haven't attempted to connect to the USB-B port yet - didn't have the correct cable

Should have one here in a couple of days and will try it then

Sounds like you have the same problem I'm having.

Just curious how you fixed the sd card?  Did you find a new one and reload on the last good config?

I'm not sure what to do with mine and was wondering how you made out.

We had to get a new flash card, license it, and load the database
