Title: InterTel 5000 v2.3 10 digit dialing
Post by: TDCIN on February 10, 2015, 07:59:57 AM
I have inherited an Inter Tel 5000 (i work mainly on 3300) with a PRI.  The area just went through and area code overlay and they now need to dial 10 digits to call local. when they dial out, unless the first digit is 1, it connects them to a trunk after 7 digits are dialed.

I have tried adjusting the Dial Pattern on the Route Group, I also changed the Local 7/10 Digit Dialing Area Flag to Yes, and no change, I also added the area code to the Home Area Code

If some one could please point me in the right direction!

I'd look again at the Local Route Group...Entry for LOCAL should be something like N+ or NXXXXXXXXX.

I did look at that, it is set to N+

i had changed it the NXXXXXXXXX and then after 7 digits, I got "Unable to route call" on the display of the phone

TDCIN,

Go to System > Numbering Plan > Area Flags and set the following:
Office Codes Used As Area Codes: Yes
Area Codes Used As Office Codes: Yes
Local 7/10 Digit Dialing: Yes
Toll Digit Allowed On Toll Local Calls: No
Toll Digit Required On Toll Long Distance: No

Then go to System > Numbering Plan > Home Area Codes and put in any local area codes in the list

Test that out and see if it fixes your issue, if not let us know and we can continue to check further in. I find that the Area Flags is the one that gets most people.

Thanks,

TE
