Hello, i work in a retail environment and we have pickup groups located through the store. There is an analog line that is attached to a bell with about 4 phones in each group. When a call comes into the store it is transferred to a pickup group which triggers the bell. Any one in the group can answer the bell by pressing a few key strokes. What is happening is if the bell is not answered after 4 rings the call is lost if no one answers the bell. How can i increase the ring count from 4 to about 8 rings which would give the sales men enough time to answer the bell? We are currently using a Mitel 3300 MXe.
Thanks,
cbburro

Is the call being forwarded or recalled somewhere?
There are some timer in the COS of the phone.
- Ring timer
- Call fwd no answer timer
On the transferring device there is also a timer in the COS.
- no answer recall timer
I suspect that it's a no answer recall timer and the call is trying to ring back to the transferring device.
You'll have to do some test to verify that.

No. it just drops, if someone is calling the store from the outside. If it is internal, it gets transferred back to where it was transferred from.

Ralph, i have been looking through the COS options on my server. I cannot find anything that says ring timer in the options. Can you tell me where it is located?

It's called "Ringing Timer" under the ringing subsection of the 1st tab.
Default is 180 seconds.
