Title: Firmware version 3 for Mitel 5224 IP Phone
Post by: tifoski on November 21, 2014, 08:46:09 AM
Hello,

I need to update the firmware on my Mitel IP Phone 5224, which is 2.0 currently. My MCD is at version 6 and thus not updated directly. Need firmware version 3.0 so after that I can update the IP Phone directly by MCD. Can anyone help me? I need the BOOTIP and L2BOOT. Thanks

Best regards,

Lucas Tifoski

The built-in TFTP server on MCD6 still includes the required boot files for a 5224.

Yes, but the 5224 can not upgrade directly from version 2 to 6. It must be version 3 or higher to update directly. As the 5224 is version 2, i need to update locally to version 3, and after that connect the MCD and upgrade directly. Can help me with version 3?

Thanks,

Are you talking about SIP firmwares? Because otherwise the answer from lundah would be correct.

I'm talking about BOOTIP and L2BOOT. For if my IP Phone was with version 3 of both, I could directly upgrade to the current version by MCD. However, as it is in version 2, it does not directly updated by the MCD. Would need to upgrade locally by a machine with a TFTP server and after that connect the IP Phone to the MCD to upgrade to the current version. Of 2 for the current not updated, only from the third.

Do you have access to MOL?
You could try and download an old version of 3300 software, maybe release 6 and then extract the IP Phone FW.
