Title: Mitel 5000 voicemail keeps locking up
Post by: jjordon on October 22, 2014, 10:51:42 AM: We have a customer whose VM keeps locking up. To get it working again requires a reset of the system.

Of all the 5000s we've installed, this is the only system that keeps doing this. If anyone has an idea of what might be wrong, please let me know.

It is a version 5.1.0.35

Are they doing Unified Messaging? If so are they doing.mp3 conversions? Do they have a PS-1? If so you may need to upgrade them to a stable version.

Swap the PM with a spare to test... if the trouble continues it is likely the SD card.

If they do not have SWA then at least take them to the latest version of 5.1 from the Engineering Emergency Builds site and see if that does the trick. Otherwise get the latest 6.0 SP 2 PR 2 from there to upgrade them since the previous version PR1 does have a Voice Processor issue in it.

What version did you take them to?

Here is the list of 5.1 versions and when they were released.

5.1 SP5   Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 43)   5.1.0.57   October, 2013
5.1 SP4   Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 32)   5.1.0.46   November, 2012
5.1 SP3   Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 25)   5.1.0.40   August, 2012
5.1 SP2   Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 21)   5.1.0.35   July, 2012
5.1 SP1   Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 19)
(Australia added Release)   5.1.0.35   June, 2012
5.1    Mitel 5000 CP v5.1 (Release 6)   5.1.0.20   December, 2011

So, basically you are at on of the earliest releases and need to make sure that you at least get them to the latest release of that version; which is on Mitel's main software download along with the release notes to let you know what is being fixed.
