Title: Mitel 3300 Inband DTMF
Post by: pradeepgali on October 15, 2014, 12:35:29 PM
I looking for setting up the Mitel 3300 for Inband DTMF. I could not find anything in the documentation. I would like to know if this is supported or not.
If this is supported by 3300, please let me know where i need to make changes.

Thanks

To the best of my knowledge, MCD does not support inband

On the far end device can you try setting the DTMF signalling to RFC 2833?

Yes, I can. DTMF 2833 with Mitel 3300 is working fine.

What are you trying to connect?

3300 is connected to MBG and MBG is connected to ITSP. Reguarding the Inband DTMF, i just want to know if mitel 3300 will support INband DTMF. I know mitel supports outofband(RFC 2833)

Mitel 3300 ---> MBG ---> ITSP.

I'm fairly certain that the 3300 itself does, but you'll have issues with voicemail.

My theory is based on the fast that I had a SIP carrier sending me both inband and RFC2833 at the same time, rather than the RFC2833 we were negotiating for. Caused all kinds of weird issues for us.

That's good to know. Is there any place in 3300 we can restrict the to RFC 2833 or to Inband DTMF?

As for as i understand, Mitel only send outofband(2833), but if the service provider sends inband DTMF, Mitel can handle it. Is that true?
