We've got a 3300, along with an MBG for a couple of Teleworkers with 5320 handsets. With the weather potentially getting worse in a month or so, I'm looking into solutions to allow our office workers to access our phone system via a SIP client on their smartphones, which will be a mix of iPhones and Android devices. This is for when they can't make it into the office due to snow.
Has anyone had any success doing this?

I've got a Bria SIP phone on my iPhone.
Runs through the TW server.
I have it twinned with my desk phone so that they both ring.
Only downside is that is drains the battery pretty quickly.

Hi Ralph,
Awesome, that sounds like the kind of thing I'm trying to do.
Could you share your settings? I'd be curious to see how you've configured your iPhone, as well as your MBG.
-
There wasn't anything special about the settings.
I used the defaults in the 3300 - be sure to use a password for the sip account that doesn't match the extension and is unique.
In the MBG you put in the extension and password to the 3300 then you use a different one for the Bria side. I used "ralph" as the user name.

That's great, thanks Ralph!
Now, probably a bit of a basic question, but I'm guessing that I'll need an available licence on the MBG in order to get this to work?
-
yes.
You'll need a license on the 3300 and the MBG.

Brilliant, thanks Ralph!
Say a user has a desk phone, and is using a SIP app on their mobile (grouped using a personal ring group), will they need two licences on the 3300, or just one?
-
Yes.
They need 1 user license for the desk phone and 1 for the softphone.
