Title: 5320 phone msg notification light stays on

This just started - after I listen to a msg, the notification light stays blinking and keeps saying I have 1 message.

How can I clear this?  Is there a reset code?

Dan231,

The default code would be 366 or 368, but if that doesn't work then look under System > Devices and Feature Codes > Feature Codes and look for Message -- Cancel or Message -- Cancel Current for the code in your system.

By the way when you press your message notification button what does the display say?

It says 1 message from ext 1172 - my own extension.

366, says my extension is invalid
368 logs me to my own vm box.

Dan231,

Press the # button after pressing the Message Notification button and read the display and see if it says that you can not call yourself.

You will need to look in your Feature Code section that I pointed out earlier and see what the codes are for your system.

sorry, they seemed the same as what you mentioned so I didn't list them.
I see nothing else for cancel options.

I can call myself with no problems with the #.

My system codes are:
365 = Message
366 = Message cancel
368 = Message cancel current
367 = Message silent

Dan231,

Did the light go out or is it still blinking? Try 394 default station code. Are you sure that 1172 is the extension number of the phone you are currently on?

Yes, that is my extension.
The light keeps blinking, it has never gone off through this testing.

I tried calling form a different ext and the same thing happens.  I listen to the msg and hang up and it still shows as new.
I had a co-worker try and the same thing happens on his phone.

I thought they were supposed to be marked as read without having to select an option after listening to the msg?

You have to either select save or delete or it is still considered a new message as you haven't told the system what to do with it.
