Title: Checking call volume via SNMP
Post by: abrookewood on August 11, 2014, 11:20:18 PM
Does anyone know what OIDs I would need to poll via SNMP to determine the number of lines that are in use?

I know that I can run the following command to generate the report I want via the web interface, but I want to tie this into Zabbix so we can get historical data.
Logon to the Mitel and open the Systems Administration Page
Open the Maintenance & Diagnostics menu item
Click on the Maintenance Commands menu item
Type the following: STATE 2 1 2 1

My support partner has provided the following MIBs (attached).

Not sure what I should be looking for, but if I find it, I will post the results.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Apparently one way to do this is to use CCM - there's a report called something like trunk usage or something.

Also, the command I wrote about earlier actually tells you how many inbound lines are configured on the PBX, which may not correlate to the number you actually have.

A better command is to look at the outbound lines: STATE trunk GROUP 1

Yes, I believe that CCM will provide historical call reporting.
This is generally done with a call accounting system.
The STATE command will show you a snapshot of what is in use at the moment you issue the command but I don't think it would be very effective in showing a good overall picture of traffic.

Take a look at TRAFFIC in the help files.
This will generate a a report showing how much traffic is being used on all your trunks.
I generally set it up to run hourly during business hours.   It will hold 10 files and then overwrites the oldest one.

The system can generate traffic reports. They just need to be collected. The CCM is one means of doing this plus it can also used the collected SMDR data.
