Title: USE Superkey to send PIN message wont go away
Post by: acomber on July 29, 2014, 02:34:53 PM
Hi

I have a 5312 IP phone where the message "USE Superkey to send PIN message wont go away" appears on LCD.  I followed tips from web which says you simply enter the set registration code: *** in my case followed by the extension number you want to use then Superkey.   So I enter ***5024<Superkey>  and I do see a message briefly, registering I think it was but then I get returned to same message.

I tried manually adding the MAC address on the back of the unit to the 5024 entry in User and Device Configuration in MCD and also removing it, but that made no difference.

Any ideas?  Could it be that somebody else has already used 5024?  Nut then I tried other ids and get same thing?

Angus

The 3 most common problems I run into when registering an IP set:

Set type doesn't match (trying to register a 5312 to a DN programmed as a 5324)
MAC address is already registered to another set
DN already has another MAC address registered to it.

You've already covered the last 2 (if the MAC was in use elsewhere you'd have gotten an error), double check your set type.

Could even be just plain a bad set, I've seen that as well.

Make sure *** really is your set registration code. This is user programmable in the system options form. You will see set registration, replacement and security.
