Title: Calls hangs up after 5 rings
Post by: hydroman on July 15, 2014, 03:27:14 PM
Any calls we receive externally, if not answered hangs up after 5 rings.  If we call the number internally works fine, the phone continues to ring.  If the first line is busy it moves to the next line in the hunt group.  We do use a phone tree to access the different departments.  The setup has been working for the last 14 years, we have made no changes to the system.  Any help would be appreciated.  We are using Mitel 3300.

What does the caller get when the line hangs up after 5 rings?

What kind of trunks are you using?
Is the caller disconnected?

Can you run a CCS trace and post a test call?

Do you have DID's? Does this happen to all incoming calls or those pointed at the tree only?

I would also check to make sure there is no call forward no answer external going to an invalid location (or a mis-configured reroute)

Symptoms sound similar to when team in my office try to forward to their mobile but don't put in the digit for an outside line
